John Moore Value?

I have solid depth at D with Faulk, Fowler, Gardiner, Jack Johnson, Orlov, Savard, Chara, Werenski and Ryan Ellis. It?s a deep league with a 60 million salary cap per year and we start 6 D man. If I want to keep John Moore I would have to shell out 500k which doesn?t seem like much but does he have much fantasy potential going forward at all. I just don?t know what type of player he is or anything at all about the Devils and their lines so any advice would be great, thanks in advance.

No worries, we all do that time to time. Mods are able to move it to the correct section anyways. Just to clarify, what are the categories in your league? This is all I've got for him pts wise. Some other more experienced multi-cat/salary cap posters may chime in and add to this.

How much do you value Chara? I can't see him putting up serious numbers or lasting much longer in the nhl. Do you have off season trades? Maybe try and trade him for a younger D? That might solve your Moore issue.

I could actually release Chara but I was thinking about signing him for 1 year at 750k. Do you think that?s a bad idea?

Chara at 1yr 750k is a helluv-an idea... Do that 10x's over vs. signing Moore.

Would much rather have Chara for that price. Chara also got 59 PIM last season compared to Moore's 39 PIM.

There's 30+pt upside with Chara too... only upside with Moore is umm.. hmm... well...

Yeah I think I’m just gonna resign Chara for sure but I wasn’t sure if there was any chance for Moore to breakout in the future or be on the PP line but it seems he is a defensive defenseman I’m guessing. I could use a winger though also. Out of those defenceman who do you think I should try and trade to get a decent winger.

I have good forward prospects like Jesse Puljujarvi and Sam Steel but not sure if their NHL ready guys or not for this next season and I also could resign Callahan at 750k.
