Yahoo fantasy Hockey - when does it open up again

Hi,

I am the commish of a keeper league that just finished its first year. We are wondering when I will be able to renew our league and be able to make adjustments. Currently I can only look at information related to the year the just finished. Does anyone have a timeframe for when Yahoo starts their 2017/2018 leagues? Probably late summer or early fall?

Late August is more likely, I'd forecast the date as August 20-something.
I'll see if I can find the past opening dates by doing a site search:

2016: August 25 (though they claimed they were going to "open early")
2015: August 20
2014: August 21
2013: August 30
2012: August 27
2011:
2010: August 25
2009: Sept 1

Last year I believe it was the 25th, and for some reason Thursdays jump out at me, but not positive.

I'll take a guess at the 24th this year.

Fair point - As it has been stated, usually late August, often the last week.

Thanks guys. I figured it would be late August.

I would have used Fantrax for our league, but I felt like Yahoo would be much easier to use for everyone. Also, the fantrax app is horrendous. I love the range of customization Fantrax supports, but they need to work on their user friendliness before our league hopes on board.

Agreed - the app is garbage.

Thankfully, the mobile site works really well. I only use the app to process trades as it's a bit quicker. For my own team management, mobile site all the way.

this is the first year I have ever had to wait for the Yahoo site... and it is painful to have to wait. I cannot wait until it is opened up and I can fully examine my new team in the Pat Quinn Memorial!

Switch to Fantrax

I used to only use Yahoo but now that have had a few seasons on Fantrax it is much better platform

I don't see why so many people love Fantrax so much. I've tried it for a season and absolutely hated it. I kept hearing great things about it so I decided to give it a second chance, but I still hated it. I personally love Yahoo. User friendly with a simple layout. My only complaint is their keeper settings. Makes no sense to me why they 'close' in the offseason. It would make things so much easier and fun to be able to access your league year round and have up to date rosters, trades and owned draft picks.
