An Update (from my hospital bed)

My friends!
I'm in the "warmups" stage of my battle and it's going well. I underwent rigorous chemo last week that finished on Thursday. It was rough, with four or five days of nausea and vomiting. Now I'm recovering from that. I no longer feel nautious, but I'm extremely tired. Chemo destroys the body. Destroys the cancer, but also the good stuff too. So my blood counts are closing in on zero, meaning I get daily blood transfusions. Next week my bone marrow recovers and starts producing blood properly and I start to feel normal.
Next week I also get a bone marrow biopsy, meaning they corkscrew into my hip and pull out marrow and if the cancer is below 10% then I can proceed with the stem cell transplant.

The transplant stage is "The Show". That's the big one. It's set for early September and will knock me on my ass for a month - worse than the "warmups" stage.

But for the three weeks between the two stages I'll be at home and feeling close to normal.

I love the analogy of warmpus and The Show.... I want to add to it though... you are a competitor and player and you are going to put your competitive attitude into make the Show and fighting through this.

Keep fighting and stay positive! My mom told me when she went through this stuff a cold damp face cloth on the back of her neck helped her not feel like vomiting 24/7.
