    Default Goalies to target

Here's a list of goalies that will be available come Free agency and my goalie prospect pool is weak!

Who would be your top 5? I'm pretty sure everyone will say Gerogiev as #1... I'm also not really worried about a timeline

    Callum Booth CAR
    Jonaas Johansson BUF
    Dylan Wells EDM
    Matis Kivlenieks CBJ
    Harri Sateri FLA
    Wouter Peeters CHI
    Matej Machovsky DET
    Alexander Georgiev NYR

This must be a super deep league...there are names on that list I had to look up. I don't feel comfortable giving you a top five as they are all long shots, but agree that the Rangers Georgiev would be near the top. The other name that stood out to me was Sabres prospect Johansson. As I understand it, the Sabres value him quite highly and see him and Ullmark as being their goalie tandem of the future.

    Bottleneckers (12/16 in 2022)
    16 team, points only. G: 2-W, 4-SO.
    Top 9F, 4D & 1G . Keep 15, Max 23
F: J. Robertson, J. Hughes, Tavares, Lafreniere, Cozens, Newhook, Teravainen, Domi, R. Strome, Laine, Rossi, Raymond, Holtz, Perfetti
    D: Bouchard, McAvoy, Morrissey, Heiskanen
    G: Vasilevskiy

I ruled out Rittich and Machovsky due to the strong tandems ahead of them.

Georgiev - Tied to Shesterkin's fate.
Wells - Could be the heir to Talbot someday.
Johansson - Lots of opportunities in BUF.
Booth - Might backup Nedj. in your pool already
    Sateri - Opportunity in FLA.

Thanks guys. The pool is 20 teams, 52 prospects. Some guys hoard goalie prospects for sure as they have addtional value with the 20 teams and only 30 NHL starters. For example Oettinger went 17th overall in our draft.

I feel that Detroit has a pretty weak goalie path and Machovsky would have an opportunity, but the question is if he's good enough.4

Anyway, thanks for the feedback fellas!

Detroit's future is cloudy in net, but Machovsky is arguably fifth on the depth chart.

    1. Howard is on borrowed time, absolutely.
    2. Mrazek is essentially on a "show me" deal, as he needs to get back to where he was prior to last season. I think everyone was surprised to see how quickly DET was willing to expose him and relegate him to a backup role after a bad season. I still think he's far more talented than he showed last year, he just may end up proving that somewhere else if he isn't careful.
    3. Coreau may be their new hopeful golden boy in case Mrazek gets shipped out of town. He still needs to prove that he can handle more than 10 starts, which is all he may get this year. However, it looks as though he is part of their plan moving forward.
    4. Newly drafted Petruzzelli shows me that DET doesn't feel they have "that guy" waiting in the wings. A high enough pick for a goalie, and one who some had projected as going earlier.
    5. Machovsky is here. Could he pass the others? Sure, but especially with Petruzzelli added to the fold, his path is anything but easy, and that's without factoring in his ceiling.
