With Dumoulin signing, where does that leave Derrick Pouliot?
I don't see how he gets any playing time with Hunwick/Maata/Dumoulin ahead of him. So is this the season he ends up getting traded to another club? I don't see that he's going to be able to break through in Pittsburgh? I was thinking of targetting him in a SIM league (think multi-category) for a low draft pick and hold hoping he would be getting traded by next offseason. Maybe he can become a regular in 2-3 years in another system.
Any thoughts?

Pitts D will get hurt, so I wouldn't even be super surprised if he got some NHL regular season games in in 2017-18.

Even with injuries this year they elected to go with other options and not Pouliot, its time to label him as a non-prospect/waiver wire type player, VERY longshot to be a producer for fantasy (or NHL). He has had some chances with the leagues (arguably) most potent offence and couldn't do anything to stay in the lineup, compared to a guy like Schultz that was scrapped by Edmonton but excelled with the opportunity on the offensive Penguins.Originally Posted by 2014olympicgold

Vegas not picking him up was telling to me... Another chapter in the death of him as a prospect? Probably especially after Pitts D being ravaged by injuries and he still stayed down... Needs one hell of a training camp this year
