Interesting that they only get him for one year. Clear difference between him and guys like Gibson and Vasilevski.

Interesting. Solid 1B - backup money. As a Mason owner, I like this contract.

Bingo! I have been saying for some time now that I think Comrie is the long-term answer in Winnipeg, not Hellebuyck. I guess time will tell if I am wrong there or not, but I think the Jets know what they have in Comrie.

Either way, this contract is a good deal for Hellebuyck, not so much for fantasy owners who have to roster him. That's a lot of cap for a guy who is probably playing 2nd fiddle to Mason this year.

CapFriendly has the Jets with 3 goalies on one-way deals over $1M... wonder if Hutchinson will be waived at the start of the season, or traded.

I believe Hutch's purpose was the expansion draft.

    Will he be moved?

Even if Hutch is waived, I think he'll clear and go to the minors. And if he's claimed it's no big loss anyways.

Moved or not, he won't factor into the NHL picture unless Mason or Helle get hurt.

I'd be a bit surprised if Hutch sees a regular season game in a Jets jersey again. Comrie is plenty ready to be an injury call-up, in my opinion.

If Hutchinson gets claimed on waivers, no biggie for Jets.

Surprised it is only one year. Should be an interesting season for Hellebuyck starting the season off as a back up and being sheltered.

How many starts does everyone predict for Hellebuyck, assuming Mason doesn't get hurt?
