If I had to guess at Chabot vs this years draft class, I'd put him top five for sure. I'd probably say right at number five, ahead of all the other D prospects in this years class.

Due to a team folding, Thomas Chabot (and some other, lesser prospects) will be available in this year's draft.

I think he would be one of the first 3 defensemen taken for sure.

I would take him 3rd overall for sure and possibly even consider him 1st or 2nd overall.

I was thinking 3rd overall, but as a Sens fan I wanted some third party input to make sure I was being objective. Thanks guys.

He doesn't have the upside of guys like Makar or Middelstadt but is a safer bet to be a productive NHLer and sooner rather than later. If you're looking for production asap, I'd take him 2nd after Hishier (I'm not a big believer in Patrick). If you want the best player, however long it takes, I'd grab Makar and Middelstadt ahead of him in that order.

Agree that 3rd overall seems appropriate. Could make the case for a F in that spot, but I guess it depends on your needs. All things equal, I'd take Chabot at 3 and be happy with it.
