    Default Risk Moving Bean?

I'm in a win now scenario this season but the one area I'm lacking confidence in is my D. Letang and OEL are solid but the risk of Deangelo, Koekkoek, and Stetcher have me worried. Lindholm could be hit or miss.

Ive always had plenty of managers reach out to me asking what I'd want for Bean. I always tell them the same thing...that he's not available since he's a big part of my future. But now I'm wondering if I should put him on the block and see if I can get a better D to eke out Koekkoek or Stecher.

I recent got Ryan Murphy, but again he's a huge risk.

Thoughts on moving Bean? What kind of return am I looking at?

A manager has put Sergachev on the block who I feel is NHL ready but I think Bean is a bit more valuable.

I'm confident that I have the man power to win. Moving Bean is risky cause I see him as being extremely valuable.

Should I put him on the table just to see what I can get? Or just leave it alone?

Nothing wrong with shopping Bean. He's a few years away and stuck behind a lot of more established guys.

And Sergachev is definitely more valuable than Bean.

+1 to Sergachev being more valuable than Bean. If you disagree with that assessment, I don't think you'll trade him as you are overvaluing him relative to normal expectations. And if you are in "win now" mode, Bean isn't going to help you. I'd definitely shop him plus one of your current D, for an upgrade.

Agree with everything said here. Bean has a number of guys ahead of or equal to him on the Hurricanes depth chart: Faulk, Slavin, Hanifin, Fleury, Pesce, T. VanReimsdyk, Dahlbeck and a number of other D prospects are in the pipe.

I really don't see Bean's upside nearly as high as you do. I'd rather Sergachev for sure.

I'd be happy to take Segachev over Bean if you could manage that.

To double up on that I don't see him helping much in the next few years either so if you can use him for a nice roster upgrade then it should help a ton.

I have a hard time seeing the Sergachev owner trading him for Bean without you having to add to him, but who knows how you guys in your league values players. I'd offer it up and see where it goes. Like others, I see Sergachev as the better option over Bean.

I put Bean out there and I got the following offer:

    I give: Bean, Stetcher, 2018 1st round
    I get: Cam Fowler

The only trouble is cap space, I'm already close to the cap but Fowler could even things out for me defensively. Thoughts?

In cap leagues, I wouldn't want to touch Fowler's $6.5M cap hit. He's a great real-life player but not worth that in fantasy hockey. I know he's still got one year left at $4M but that's too much to pay for a one year rental.

That's been my thought as well, I'm already close to the cap as it is and knowing he just got a $2.5M upgrade doesn't help me at all.

He's got Krug, Parayko, and Klefbom as well but out of the 3 Klefbom is the cheapest. Ideally I'd like someone in Schultz or Josi who are cheap but can produce, but I don't think either manager wants to move them.

If you can land Klefbom, give it a shot. Maybe offer Bean and Stecher for him and hope for the best. You probably need to add more but I think that's worth trying as a starting point. But my guess is that's not something you can land but worth trying.
