Yea, I was thinking about performance/playing time bonuses. Devils are one of the few teams he'd be able to hit them with. I didn't think about the fact that an ELC could limit what's available though. So not sure if that's a factor.

Yes, there's a limit to the bonuses. The most he can make, bonuses and all is $3.775M. $925K for base + $2.85M for bonuses (Schedule A and Schedule B) for a maximum of two years (because of his age).

And to be honest, he would have a chance to hit them all with Colorado as well but he doesn't want to play for them so I am not sure the money is the factor for him.
