Default Jake Dotchin - What to expect?

He is projected to be on the top pairing line with Hedman. How many points do you expect?

    Is he better than Bigras?

Yes to better than Bigras right now but realistically he won't be on the PP and neither will he be the focal offemsive point of that pairing - 20 to 25 at the very very best next season imo

he's a solid defender but as Sulla said do not expect major points. He is playing the Paul Martin to Brent Burns role.

What about multi cat value? Is Dotch gonna be hitting, blocking, and beating people up?

Dotchin won't get you a bunch of points (probably around 25 pts), but he will continue to pad the stats in a leagues that count hits, blocks & PIM

I see him as Gudas-light, in terms of PIM and hits. 20-25 points seems reasonable.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.

exactly, gudas-light. in multi-cat cap leagues, he's a good own for the next 2 years. if I was able to get good value for him in a deal, though, I would, as the lightning have a lot of young dmen coming up, and dochin was never regarded as one of their top D prospects, so it's not like his spot is set in stone.

    GET WELL SOON, DOBBER.

Thanks guys. He might not be what I'm looking for to pick up in one of my pts leagues. We only get 3 free agent pick ups and don't think it's smart to use up one of them this early in the season on a guy who will only get 20-25 pts.

He has been getting a really bad rebutation as a mean and dirty player in the AHL. I think he's gonna rack up a lot of PIM. He already hits and blocks a lot. I see him as Colton Parayko lite version (really lite).

Dotchin is definitely a sleeper in roto leagues that count hits and penalty minutes. Last year, he had 13 points and 105 penalty minutes in 35 AHL games and in 35 NHL matches, he registered 11 points, 85 hits and 50 shots on goal. Nearly 80 per cent of his even-strength shifts were beside Victor Hedman. He also logged second unit power play time and had four points in his final five contests. He'll be okay in blocked shots, but not a beast. I'd wager that he'll hit around 25 points, close to 200 hits and 80-90 penalty minutes in the NHL this year. VincentVega had it right when he called Dotchin a Gudas-lite.
