    Default Futuristic Outlook: 4 Keeper

    12 Team, H2H, Keep 4 ( in bold)
    G, A, +/-, PPP, S, Hits
    W, Sv%, GAA, SO

I've written a couple of times about my team, and have had a wide variety of discussions surrounding what to do with my team moving forward. With many players to consider in keeping and/or trading, I'd like to move the conversation to future projections and what you might think is the best direction to go with my players.

Crosby, Ovechkin, Marchand, Burns, Hedman, M. Murray, M. Jones

Who should I be looking at with potential trades? For example, is Crosby at his highest selling point? With concussion issues, I fear one more hit may end his career.

Is Ovechkin at his highest sell point? Should I consider Hedman over Burns as Burns is at his highest value maybe ever...

Lots to think about on my roster. Most have said in a keep 4, you should just stick with what you have. I will most likely do this, but I want to start thinking further ahead.

    All thoughts are welcome.

It all depends on if you are contending this year or not.. If so, those players would help you win for sure

I feel Ovi's value is diminishing points wise, but is good in your format

Crosby could be a sell high for the right price..

    Burns over Hedman

Your choices seem right for me

I usually contend every year. Winning is my goal every year. However, this year I went all in and busted in the semi's. So i have almost no good draft picks... I think my highest are a 3rd and a 6th.. So trading will be important in the off-season if I plan to contend again.

Any chance you could send Crosby/Ovie/Burns off for McDavid?
That way you end up keeping McD/Marchand/Hedman/Murray. I don't know if you could do that AND recoup draft picks, but it's an option worth looking into.

eventually if I am you I am dealing Burns and retaining Hedman. Jones/Murray would be deadly duo to own with 4 of 10 cats being goaltending nonetheless if you do not keep both I get it. Your keepers are interesting as the likes of Ovi, Burns, Marchand are at peak value right this second, I would be shopping the piss out of them to see what you can get back when you feel the window is closed. For now you have to go for it as the window is open but down the road firesale for young new assets.

As with any of these conversations then it depends what you can get via trade?

The McDavid owner says he's not for sale. He did, however, offer my a deal during the year that was Ovi/Burns, 1st, 2nd round picks for McDavid and a bunch of nothing. I declined as i was taking hits in all cats but points.

I'm with you on trading Burns sooner rather than later.

I've been looking heavily into Kucherov.. would dealing Ovi or Burns for him make sense? Should I expect more than just Kuch in return?

Also, what about Draisaitl/Eichel/Laine? Which of these are worth thinking about?

How many goalies do you start? If it is only a start 1 goalie... I would consider trying to move Murray...coming off two Stanley cups.. it might be an opportune time to trade him and Hedman for a top goalie....

If not I would strongly consider keeping Hedman over the goalies and drafting a goalie early in the draft.

I consider Murray already a top goalie, so not sure I'd want to deal him for a slight upgrade.

The other problem is I have next to no draft picks in the upcoming season. Best I have is a 3rd and 6th haha :/

Other than Murray, we have seen the best from all the players. That being said, none seems to be at risk of a huge drop soon.

give the McD owner a call again, also the Laine owner, will be cheaper to overpay now than in the future. Ovie, Cros , burns for McD - see if you can get a draft pick added. I would be keeping Hedman over Burns now- Hedman got 10 years left of Production, short term pain for long term gain.

I've sent the offer of Cros, Ovechkin, and Burns for McDavid... Though I am definitely starting to reconsider that and pull the offer.

Somebody either talk me into this one, or out of it- I am on the fence, but leaning towards pulling it.

Your 4 choices seem about right. Am a big fan of Hedman and don't think his value is that far off from Burns though. If I was a rebuilding team I would just go with Hedman and not look back. Many people think he will regress a fair margin this next season but I think he will score 60+
