    Default Patrick Sharp

    Hey everyone.

We are keeping 18 of a 25 man roster. Is Patrick Sharp worth a first round pick in that format? He's available on the FA for draft and will be $1m this year. I go last (12th) in a snake draft

I think he is a 40-45 pt player with high shot totals. If he is healthy and sticks with Kane it would not surprise me to see him hit 50 pts. Granted, it would not surprise me to see him get 25 pts and be waiver wire fodder either. Is he worth that pick? It's hard without knowing what type of player is available at that pick. I see now your league does not count shots so that hurts.

I don't think he worth a first rounder....could you give us some examples of players available in the first round? Prospect draft or FA draft?

Depends how bad you want em and what your leagues appetite is for Sharpie now that he's back in Chi-town. I am on board with Daydream's projections. I personally wouldn't be over reaching for Sharp in round one..and likely gamble to third round to snag em.

What type of players are taken in the 1st round? Got Sharpie down for 40 pts but not expecting much more than that really. Depends who else is available

Sorry, SOG is a cat we use. Forgot to add that to my sig.

This year we are adding minors to the teams, so all of the prospects are FA at the moment. Maybe I'll try and grab him in the 3rd and just focus on some young talent to fill the bench

How do you know this? Who's going to be playing opposite Kane? If you say Schmaltz, who are the #3C and #4C? Just curious.

hfboards projected lines thread (all speculation) has Chicago as ....

    Saad-Toews-Panik
    Jurco-Anisimov-Kane
    Sharp-Schmaltz-Hartman
    Bouma-Kero-Wingels

don't think Jurco will start on the 2nd line but that's me.

Wouldnt expect much, he is in twilight of career coming off of a significant injury, and they already tried this reunion type thing with Ladd with very little success. Good depth signing for bottom six role for NHL club, but little to no relevance for fantasy hockey.

    Thanks for posting.

I read HF Boards all the time and those lines are not the consensus of posters. Anyone who states what the lines are right now just doesn't know what they're talking about. It will take training camp and preseason to see where everyone is at. You need to see how Sharp has recovered from his hip injury and see how the rest of the lower line forwards look. Like most seasons, there are several spots up for grab right now. Personally, I think Sharp has the best shot at the LW spot opposite Kane due to familiarity and his scoring upside. Jurco had good stats as a shot suppression forward last year so I doubt he would be put on the 2nd line which has traditionally been an offensive line for the Hawks. We'll see what happens but to state definitively where any of the forwards outside the top 5 are going to play is reckless.

I don't know that, just personal opinion.

As for or wingers who could slot in above him, I see Kane, Saad, Panik, Schmaltz and possibly Hartman ahead of Sharp. Maybe even Bouma or Wingels, depends on how they click with other players.

If you are using it just for this season then I can see how it makes sense but if it's growing into a farm team that you keep I'm far less inclined

Best line predictions right now are:
    Toews, Saad, Panik
    Anisimov, Kane, Sharp
    Schmaltz, Hartman, Jurco
    Kero, Bouma, Wingels
    Tootoo

I think Hayden will start in the AHL. I think Hinostroza is a wild card. He could center line 3 which would move Schmaltz up to the 2nd line. Hartman has also shown the talent to play on a scoring line.
