NEW Fantrax Limited Keeper $$$ League

For the past six months I have been searching for a pool when I realized I am extremely specific with my criteria for my "dream pool". After thinking about it for a bit, I decided if I really wanted to have an amazing pool, starting one would likely be the best route... Thus I am creating Hickory Hockey League! Personally I have over 5 years commissioner experience on top of 12+ years of fantasy experienced (12 in leagues + helping father for my whole childhood before that). This would be my only pool for this season as well, I mention this so you know there will be a devoted commissioner. Overall Fantrax should do most of the work besides recruiting and drafts.

- 10 Team Limited Keeper H2H Fantrax League
- Regular season matchups last 1 week, playoff matchups last 2 with lineup changes accepted at start of 2nd week also.
- $55 entry fee + fantrax fee - Leaguesafe to handle all funds
- Weekly lineups
- Draft 30, 33 roster limit effective after draft (fill through WW/Trade).
- 2C, 2LW, 2RW, 5D, 3F, 1Skt, 2G
- Scoring system: G(5), A(5), STP(1), PIM(0.3), SOG(0.2), Hits(0.2), Blks(0.2), W(7), SO(7), GA (-1), Svs(0.2)
- Limited Keeper - 10 for 1st, 11 for 2nd, 12 for 3-8, 13 for 9-10 placed teams (regular season) + 5 prospects per team (82/41gp limits)
- $50 Waiver Bidding system (fake not real money), minimum $2 bid

I'm a slight bit confused, you say roto scoring yet your format shows a head to head points league. Which is it?

My bad Kaner, i'd probably classify it as like a hybrid scoring league since each category has a custom value... still modifying the rulebook I have based the whole league off of. If your interested send me a line

Thanks for the offer but there are just too many positions. Hockey has 5. $75, it's a 10 team league? You might want to rethink this. But thx anyway.

Thanks Butch! The league its based off of has been running for 8 seasons I believe and is extremely competitive due to the keeper settings being based off of standings.

Entry fee has been modified to $55. At this new fee Hickory Hockey League hopes to still attract committed and active GMs (main reason for fee) but remains in the price range where the pool is still reasonably priced. The payouts have been modified as well (see website rulebook).

I like the scoring formula for f/d except I'd worry that goalies should be awarded something for shootout/overtime losses . Since wins = +7 , perhaps 3 .I think it would help even the playing field for the good goalies playing for rebuilding or up and coming nhl teams .

We currently have 12 goalies in the top 50 which seems like a lot considering how messy last year was. TB, PHI, PIT, CGY, FLA, WPG, DET, DAL, VAN all had goalies with split starters or an awful awful season (Helley). On top of that OTT was a mess too and Budaj wasnt in that list from LA. The pool is modelled after a different pool and I am confident in saying the goalie market is solid and that they produce some of the highest points per game on average.

Just as a note the top goalies were ranked 2,3 and 6th in overall points

40 of the top 50 points per game players in the league were goalies.

I suspect we are now at 7/10. Looking to fill out the final 3!
