Prizes for non-cash leagues?

Hi all,

I'm starting a new dynasty salary-cap league on Fantrax with some friends, and was hoping to keep it non-cash (other than just covering the fantrax fees). I haven't done many non-cash leagues, but I think it will work best in keeping a league fun over the long-term and encouraging actual team management (for example, it's not so painful trying to rebuild a team).

With that said, I feel like there needs to be some good incentive to win. Any ideas? What have you come up with in your non-cash leagues?

Note: the GMs are also dispersed, so unfortunately it's not as easy as doing a round of drinks for the winner or something at years end.

My league does have a cash payout but honestly it's still all about the trophy.

In our second season on our league went out and got a high quality looking trophy: silver cup, cherry base with 20+ spots for champions. Unique team plaque on the front. It's awesome and it's the main thing guys care about in the league. We also have a last place shame outfit that must be worn during the draft and at other official league events. As the league grows the trophy gets involved in high-jinks (lost at bars) and the shame outfit becomes more and more worn, each develops its own sort of aura. Every year we take a picture at the draft with all past winners, if you're wearing the shame outfit you're disqualified from the photo. In group chat the champions photo is great for smack talk when a non-champion goes on a winning streak.

If your leaguemates are all bonded around some common theme - go to Uni together? play soccer together? you could base the trophy on that, otherwise a classy looking cup you'd be proud to display and drink out of has done the trick for us.

If you're 10-12 guys then even a $300 trophy becomes pretty affordable.

Last place also gets a wooden toilet seat with their name attached to it. And of course a picture with their head through the seat during draft day.

The more traditions you have....the better and more fun the league will be.

or non payment league uses a trophy as well.it gets engraved every year and the winner keeps it for the season

we do the draft at someones house and the loser of the league is the beer getter, must always get a beer when asked (unless he's drafting or on deck) by anyone.

Winner gets his beer paid for by the loser, and choice of food for the night (doesnt pay either).
