Who is my last keeper?
This doesn't concern forwards, but I didn't know where to put this thread... so here we go.
At the beginning of the summer, I felt that my 12 keepers for next season were set but now I'm not so sure.
Points-only league in signature, where I'm in a good position to compete for the championship again.
My 12th keeper will come down to these two players :
- Connor Hellebuyck
- Ivan Provorov
Both have great upside, but both have stiff competition to really reach their potential.
FWIW, goalies produce a lot of points in my league. On the other hand, dmen depth is also important since every team needs to roster 6 of them.
Which player would you rather own?

League 1: 10 teams Points only (Best 9F, 4D and 1G count for the season and best 8 for the playoff). Drop 4 players before a 4 round draft before season. Mini draft during all star week-end (drop one pick one available).

Provorov for me as well. Hellebuyck is going to be a split or backup this year... Provorov is going to push for top D man minutes.

Especially considering you've got Holtby - won't have to worry too much about your goaltending as he can win a league on his own.

I agree, Provorov. Hellebuyck is redraftable. It's too bad your other G's aren't that great or I would have recommended one of them considering you are a 2G league.

It's a 12 teams league and I think that at least half of the GMs will keep 2 goalies.Thanks.

Which should leave goalies like Fleury, Anderson, Smith, Hellboy, Greiss, Darling and Schneider available.

Provorov. The way the Jets hold onto goalies, it won't be a shock if Hellebuyck is waiting 3 or 4 years before being the undisputed starter. I don't like the presence of Mason there, especially if he actually does well. Could be a long wait for Helly owners.
