    Default Dennis Wideman (UFA)

    Is he done ?

I think with what happened with the linesman all teams are steering clear of him.

    Thoughts ?

    Thanks

Even if Wideman signs somewhere, he's not worth owning in any format, regardless how deep it is.

At 34, I think he may have a taker later on in the off-season or maybe even after the season has begun (injuries, prospects sent down after camp, maybe a PTO too ...)

He doesn't seem to be remotely close to the player he was 3 years ago though. As it stands, there are still some good names out there on the market so until those are off the board, I think Wideman sits and waits by the phone.

Also, anything above $1m/1 year will be very surprising if someone takes a flyer on him.

I can see a PTO to a depth starved mid-level team.. and then cut.

Wideman is slow, really slow. He used to be a great PP guy, but that's long in the past. He's definitely not fantasy relevant anymore, and I don't see how he is going to get anything more than a PTO from a bottom feeder this fall.

He will probably find a place to sign but I don't expect him to score much. If he somehow gets to 30 pts then its a huge accomplishment.
