Keller vs Tkachuk

I mean normally I like going with the guy you've "seen it" from, but I think you have to go with Keller here.

I definitely wouldn't add to Keller to get Tkachuk, but I can also see the argument the other guy shouldn't have to add to Tkachuk to get Keller.

Ok, so I'm bumping this one to hopefully get a little more help.

I have been offered Tkachuk and Couturier for Keller. Now I know that this doesn't really help because I don't have room to keep Couts, but it shows me that he's willing to do a small add to get Keller. So I need to come back with something that I win with. He has some interesting pieces in Murray, Andersen, Duchene, Wennebrg, Radulov, JT Miller, Buff, Yandle and Ellis.

What piece should I go after? Do I stick to picks as the "extra"? Or do I just abandon the whole thing and just keep Keller?

Can you trade draft picks? Who is available in the draft? If you could buy low on duchene and swap out like Zucc or Trouba for him, I would do that. I don't think any of the pieces you listed would be a "small add" to Tkachuk.

The first round includes the leftovers which would be the same as round 15 in a 12 team league and then the 2017 entry draft players. So picks have less value than getting a keeper upgrade, unless you are drafting top 3, then you can land Hischer or Patrick type player.

was thinkin the same thing. those aren't small additions, you'd likely need to add to Keller, which doesnt make sense. Keller is the guy id wanna keep.

What about Dumba/Keller for Tkachuk/Wennberg? Or am I not high enough on Dumba here (I see him as more of a two way defenseman who can put up 40, which I don't think is too hard to find?). I might be biased on Wennberg as I own him in a league. Maybe Duchene is the better ask.

To me the add to Tkachuk needs to be significant in a points only. You're league doesn't quite seem to be valuing him high enough, which makes it hard to move him.

It'd have to be a juicy plus that I can keep or a legit draft pick on top of Tkachuk for me to move Keller. I probably still wouldn't do it with Tkachuk being the main return. Keller his a sky high ceiling.

I think a lot of people are overselling what Keller's ceiling actually is, and clearly his league feels that way. I'd say Keller has like a 70-75 point ceiling, which I don't think is much higher than Tkachuk's

if Tkachuk gets close to 70 i'll party in the streets like its 1999. his value is in multi-cats not points only.

Sure. I said close. If Tkachuk is 60-65 and Keller is 70-75, that's close.

ya i know what you're saying, but there's no way i'm moving Keller for Tkachuk..i really like both and own both. its not worth it IF he cant keep teh addinal guy. that additional would have to be good enough to unplant his keepers, at that point Tkachuk becomes the secondary piece and likely not good enough to unplant any keepers still.

It's not a bad deal by any means. I'm still not sure I'd trade Keller personally but that's decent value for you if you're not so high on him and you really want Tkachuk.
