    Default 2017 Goalie Shuffle

    IIRC, this may be (with Vegas as 31st team) the first time I can ever recall a goalie shuffle where every NHL starter AND backup from previous year is still with an NHL team as starter OR back-up.
    True?

    Here's what I got:
    Shuffle 1: ARI --> Mike Smith --> CGY --> Brian Elliott --> PHI --> Steve Mason --> WPG --> Ondrej Pavelec --> NYR --> Antti Raanta --> ARI
    Shuffle 2: NEW GUY: A.Forsberg --> CHI --> Scott Darling --> CAR --> Eddie Lack --> CGY --> C.Johnson --> BUF --> Anders Nillson --> VAN --> Ryan Miller --> ANA --> Jon Bernier --> COL --> Calvin Pickard --> VEG
    Shuffle 3: 3rd-to-Backup: Stalock (MIN) --> Darcy Kuemper --> LA --> Ben Bishop --> DAL --> Antti Niemi --> PIT --> MA Fleury --> VEG

    Is there any new rising-up goalies this year?
    Doesn't feel like it.
    Did I miss anybody?
    Has any main starter or back-up from 2016-2017 not have a job?

    Awesome post Peng

    As for your question (see bold), I think Hutchinson and possibly Montoya may get sent down if they clear waivers for their respective teams. In Montoya's case, I think Lindgren will outplay him in camp.

    Thanks.
    I don't think Hutchinson could be considered an NHL back-up when last year ended.
    Montoya - yes, I've heard Lindgren might be considered - though I don't see the harm for the Habs in letting Lindgren still get lion's share of AHL games and letting Montoya play out that last year.

    Only one of Kuemper or Zatkoff will be in the NHL next year as a backup.

    And it looks like Mrazek or Coreau will be waived/traded.

    Also, I doubt Mazanec sees NHL time this year.

    Montoya just re-signed for two more years.
