Mcavoy or Chabot in a keeper points only

I'd go McAvoy just for what I saw from him in the playoffs

Difficult because both look like top pairing dmen in the making. I'll say McAvoy for now. I think he could be the top defenseman in Boston very quickly...best case Werenski type scenario. Chabot will be that one day, but probably not in the next 3 years or so.

I'm not 100% sold on McAvoy'S playoff output but I do like his potential a tad more than Chabot's going forward so another Charlie vote here!

Can't really go wrong with either or but I would go with McAvoy.

There's also the 'issue' of karlsson limiting Chabot's opportunity for elite production potential - namely PP1.

There's Krug in Boston, but let's be honest Krug is no Karlsson. McAvoy can potentially replace him. Chabot would have to be Orr-like to replace Karlsson on the PP.

If all else is equal Karlsson is a ----- blocker for Chabot

Chabot might well be the better talent but McAvoy has the better circumstances.

As a Sens fan, I think Chabot has more talent as a player, but I think McAvoy's situation in Boston will tip the scales his way in terms of point production.

McAvoy could theoretically replace Krug as their PP1 QB and compete for top minutes down the road if he shows the right stuff, but Chabot will never realistically have a shot at passing EK in either of those categories. That opportunity alone will give McAvoy the edge and ability to put up more points.
