    Default Arvidsson's next contract

I'm trying to put the finishing touches on my team for next season, and would like to know what you all think Victor Arvidsson's next contract will look like. Don't care about term (although the longer the better!) but interested in cost. Does it get to 5mil per year? Less? More? How much do I need to put aside to make sure I don't go over my cap?

    GET WELL SOON, DOBBER.

I was thinking anywhere from 5-5.5. Don't think he gets much more than that after having a mediocre playoff performance and he just had a break out season.

It was Arvidsson's first full NHL season, and although it was a really good season, I don't really see him getting much above $5M. I think it might be closer to $4M actually. But it will depend on the term, so it could be a 1 year, $3.5M contract or an 8 year, $5.5M deal. I just think they go between those two extremes and do something like 4 years and $4.5M.

Term will have a lot to do with it. I'm going with 2 years $9.5M, but it could be a lot more depending on UFA years that are swallowed.

Nashville likes to lock guys up. I think they like him. I'm going to say 7 or 8 at 4.5 per

i agree with roenick here , and after losing Neal to expansion the Preds are a little thin on RW so lock him up!

if he does get 6 or 7 years expect the number to be closer to 4.5 than 5.0 i believe.

worth noting the Preds also have Johansen's contract to renew along with a few other RFA'S so im sure they are looking to keep the cap hit as low as reasonably possible.

A huge long deal like that would be surprising but I guess if they really like him they will lock him up. I would guess around 5 million though, knowing the crazy nature of the NHL. I personally don't think guys like him deserve that amount but it is the way the league goes these days.
