Default Who would you sign for the next 2-3 years?

I have a 2-year contract to give out and I'm looking at signing one of these defenseman. Who would you sign?

    John Klingberg
    Torey Krug
    Colton Parayko

I'm leaning on Parayko. I like his game and he's been pretty solid so far throughout his young career.

This is how the points stacked up by the end of last season:

    Klingberg - 2239 fpts (80 games)
    Krug - 2532 fpts (81 games)
    Parayko - 2351 fpts (81 games)
    12 Team (Limited Keeper) Multi-Cat - Weekly Roster Lock (4C / 4LW / 4RW / 6D / 2G / 5 Bench / 2 IR)
Forwards & Dmen: Goals, Assists, Shots, Blks, Hits, FW (+ pts.), FL (-pts.), +/-, PIM (- pts.), HT, GWG, SHG, SHA
Goalies: Wins, Losses (-pts.), GA (-pts.), Saves, Shut Outs

    C: MacKinnon, Cozens, Jenner, Kotkaniemi

LW: Svechnikov (LW,RW), Guentzel, Forseberg, Vrana, Raymond (LW,RW)
RW: Tolvanen (LW,RW), Debrincat (LW,RW), Wheeler, Wilson
D: Heiskanen, Q. Hughes, Bouchard, Sergachev, Durzi, K. Miller
    G: Demko, Markstrom

Reserves: P. Kane (RW), C. Brown (RW), Sharongovich (LW), Andersen (G)

I think I go Klingberg. I expect a bounce back year from him and some top players from the Stars...

I expect a bounce back year from Klingberg as well, but what would you expect points wise under a new coach? And does Honka challenge him for minutes on the PP? As for Parayko, Shattenkirk is gone which gives him more minutes and more opportunities to put up points. He's obviously capable of getting more than 4 goals in a season too. I remember it nearly took him half of the season to get his first!

I'd rank them as Krug, Kling and Para. Would you consider dropping Faulk at keeping both Krug and Kling. That is what I'd do. Faulk's health is always iffy during the season and is already in band aid boy territory.
Hockey Pools? Too many to mention. Points only, salary cap and dynasty.

Personally I don't think Klingberg loses PP time to Honka. And from what I've read, it was AP who really gained after Shattenkirk left, and not Parayko.

I would consider it. I drafted Faulk as my 1st rnd. pick in 2015/2016 (the D selection was pretty slim). I love his stats when he's healthy especially because he puts up a lot of shots which counts for a lot of points in our league. He actually ended up finishing the year with the most fpts out of all my defenseman with 2760 fpts (in 75 games mind you). Next was Doughty with 2731 in 82 games. But with Faulk, he always seems to get injured when you need him most so it's frustrating being an owner. The good news is that I get to pick 2nd overall next season which will most likely be Burns or Karlsson so by taking Krug and Kling over him it wouldn't be a huge loss.

I wish they would give Parayko time on the top PP. He's got a huge shot.

I hear ya; many people were expecting Parayko to explode once Shatty left. It just didn't happen. Who knows, maybe next year will be different. I'm not saying Parayko is a bad pick; just that I'd personally rather gamble on Klingberg.

It's pretty eye-opening seeing a lot of love for Krug. He was last on my list when considering signing a dman. What do you guys expect from him going into next season and beyond? I like his shot volume but he doesn't put up a lot of hits and blocks.

for your league setup i'd choose parayko, think he's about to break out anytime. such a physical beast and for a big guy he has nifty mitts.

I like Klingberg here to really give you the most in terms of offense.

Yeah, I think I'm going to go Klingberg here. The Stars have made some impactful moves ever since I made this posting and it's hard not to get excited for a bounce back from him. I have the option of using another 2 year contract (I have 2 to give out - must be players who make 5.5 mil or less btw), however, our draft is going to be pretty deep this season and by not using it I get a 2nd rnd. conditional pick.

I'm a big fan of this kid. I'll just have to do my best with re-drafting him.
