Default Worth it to pay the price for Talbot?

In my 12 team dynasty league I am pretty set at all skater positions, but last year I had the worst goalie stats in the league (Wins, GAA, Save%). I still made the playoffs and finished 3rd in spite of this, but my team is even better this year skater wise (added expensive win-now pieces in Stamkos and Seguin this offseason while giving up very little) and I think I have a very legitimate shot at 1st place IF I get above average goalie stats this season.

My goalies are: Bishop, Vasilevskiy, Hellebuyck, Mason (keeping 3, so planning to trade or drop Mason most likely)

The Talbot/Murray/Schneider owner is willing to trade me Talbot, but he wants both Panarin and Guentzel from me. This would leave me with Marchand, Ehlers, Huberdeau and Keller at LW, turning a position of strength into one that is just solid. After a couple of counters back and forth I am getting the impression that he would probably accept this deal if I offered it:

    MY:
    Panarin (2% of salary cap)
    Guentzel (2% of salary cap)
    Giroux (14% of salary cap)
    Hellebuyck (1% of salary cap)

    FOR HIS:
    Pavelski (10% of salary cap)
    O'Reilly (3% of salary cap)
Domi (1% of salary cap) OR Larkin (2% of salary cap)
    Talbot (5% of salary cap)

Would this be a trade worth making in order to solidify my crease? Talbot, Bishop, Vasilevskiy sounds a lot better than Bishop, Vasilevskiy, Hellebuyck to me... but is it worth what I have to give up to make it happen? And if so, would it be better to take back Domi or Larkin to fill the hole opened up at LW?

Helly vs Tabot = you win the goalie trade hands down.. - Talbot
Guentzel vs Domi / Larkin = IMO this is a push but i could see an argument for Guentzel - TIE (FWIW id take Domi)
Panarin vs ROR = stats wise this is Panarin's win (also salary) - Panarin
Giroux vs Pavelski = Both salary and stas are on Pavelski's side here - Pavs

if you do value Guentzel more i think you still come out on the winning side, giving you the better goalie

With your categories, Pavelski and O'Reilly are actually decent pieces.

Overall, to Finny's point, I think this is a win - albeit not a slam dunk. The guys you're getting in return have lower upsides then what you're giving away. Pavelski and ROR have nice floors though. And Talbot is a serious upgrade.

    I'd do it.

I'd offer this deal and I'd take back Domi rather than Larkin.

I pull the trigger on that offer. You're addressing a position of need from a position of depth and strength. Talbot is a top 5 goalie now and is as good of bet as any to maintain that spot for several years to come. If you don't address your need in goal you could easily end up 3rd again next year.

To be honest I'm surprised the other GM isn't trying to unload Schneider. A Murray/Talbot duo is as lethal looking as any other duo you could put together right now Imo.

And I'd take Domi over Larkin...

I didn't even need to read the rest. Trade your namesake. You can do it!

Made an offer of Guentzel + Hellebuyck for Talbot. We'll see where that goes. I have enough depth on LW and at forward in general that I can afford it.

Good news: he just accepted Guentzel + Hellebuyck for Talbot. Feeling much better about my goalies now

Thanks for the help everybody. Repped as many as I could, and I'll make sure to get the others when able.

Happy to still have Panarin on board, for now at least.
