With trades, just really really happy as a Blues fan today. Did not think Armstrong would makes trades like this.

I really thought they'd select Liljegren the way things were breaking.

Blues had a monster day. I actually have to give Army some credit. He crushed it.

Cutting 7.5 megabucks off the cap

picking up 2 promising young forwards and a young RD with something to prove

    20 million in cap space
Consider Sim Hockey because guys who play shutdown minutes, deflect shots and clear creases build championships. Yet in fantasy they litter the unwanted UFA lists.

Good analysis. Tolvanen dropping to 30 is mind blowing. Yamamoto is a great fit with the Oilers. As much as I enjoy laughing at the Canucks, I can get behind Pettersson as he has very high upside. Once again Benning telegraphed going one way (Glass) and went in a different direction, much like last year when they really talked up PLD and Tkachuk and then went with Juolevi. Not sure why they'd do that this year as they had their choice of centres.

Thrilled with the Liljegren pick at 17 for the Leafs. I know there's some questions about his game, but I like his upside as a point producing dman. Have faith in the Toronto coaches turning him into a good defensive player.

Definitely with you on these ones. The Kostin pick was the exclamation point on it all for me with STL.

I can agree with this too as long as they put the cap space to good use.

Why didn't Benning trade down? Nicks lose. Glass was interviewing on local radio like it was a sure thing.

Why did Tolvanen fall so far? Preds win.

I don't really understand how Toronto and Edmonton are winners when those guys went right where they were expected to go. Liljegren was ranked #16, Yamamoto was ranked #24.

LA, NSH and STL grabbed the biggest fallers but there weren't many big reaches this year. The Rangers reached on both picks, though, as did Vegas with their #15 pick. The Rangers might be the biggest losers actually since they should have traded down with both their picks, and they had really good picks.

Liked the pick by the Leafs. The steal of the draft perhaps.

Thought the Yotes did extremely well with their trade acquisitions. A top 6 centre in Stepan, a top 4 blueliner in Hjalmarsson, and a young netminder ready to take over the starting goalie position in Raanta. Who is scratching their head at Chayka's hiring now?

Didn't like Pittsburgh's decision to trade their 1st rounder for Ryan Reaves.
