My fantasy take on the deal:

I'm really interested to see if Schenn is used at center or on the wing. Tried to address both scenarios here.

I don't know why but people seem to forget that the Flyers didn't actually save any cap space with this move. Schenn is $5.125M while Lehtera is $4.7M. They wanted to get rid of Schenn for whatever reason and were willing to acquire a bad contract to get the best possible return. But to me, that return looks rather weak. This is a clear win for the Blues IMO.

Does this mean that Hextall has no faith in Giroux or Voracek? Seems like a building block step rather than a improving step. I dont like it. I think it sends a bad message.

I also thought Hextall looked rather disappointed when they planned to him after the Hischer pick by Jersey... Agree it is an odd move and I'm interested to see where this vision takes the team too when the season opener rolls round

I don't see it as knock to G or V, more as faith in the readiness of someone like Lindblom and a frustration with not getting much out of Schenn outside of PPPs.

I just hope Hexy has a few deals up his sleeve to clear out a few bottom 6ers, Lehtera included now.

Yes, they are definitely better off with Lehtera and his 22 points.

Love the sarcasm! Strange trade without knowing any background to it. Seems like less than what Schenn should be worth.

I don't know why the flyers did this but I'm kind of surprised this is the general feeling. After all they got two first rounders and a capable 3rd C for him. Not even sure if it's lopsided.

They got 2 first round picks for a middle six PP specialist.

Sure the points thing, but he basically produces the same as Bonino, and I don't think anyone would consider his impact solely on points.

I mean. They didn't trade Schenn straight up for Lehtera, so this seems like a pretty dumb comment.

One more season on his contract. Gives them time to move Patrick in slowly and give him sheltered minutes or use him on the wing. I like this deal for both sides, although I'm curious how Philly's PP rolls out now since Schenn had been a solid producer there if not at 5 on 5.

I did like what Weal did last season but once again I think the Flyers could have gotten way more! Schenn has shown he can play the wing so even if Patrick makes the team this would have given them a great top 6.

Lehtera is almost a throw in here. Great deal for the Blues.
