What do the Leafs add to JVR to land Hanifin?

There's no deal between leafs and canes for Hanifin.

Canes would want one of nylander/marner which isn't happening. Besides the whole point in moving him is to get a #1C, JVR doesn't help them at all, a winger is the last thing they need right now.

Best case scenario for habs:

1 - Trade Galchenyuk for a proven #1C because it's clear they aren't going to develop him into one and they have one last season in their window
2 - Keep Galchenyuk because if they trade him they are stupidly going to move him for a D

Most likely scenario for habs:

1 - Trade him for a D because Bergevin is a terrible GM so of course he will trade offense for defense

Surprised at this Rumour but you have to give to get... Pretty sure I saw somewhere though where Francis dismissed moving a D man this Summer (but that's always served with a huge pinch of salt when a GM says that)
