Okay as you can see below Im a very young team . I want to make some strides though this year. Thus I recently acquired Connor McDavid(at the expense of my RW depth)

Q1 To help shore up my Right side i have one of 2 first picks in draft. Do i use it on one of the 2 rookies? Or Jordan Eberle RW is also available.

Q2 Id like some opinions on this offer I received(am i ready to make playoffs?)

Ryan Kesler (solid hits, big FOWs, Points similar to Lee. But 32?)

Anders Lee (few more hits & goals. Playing with Tavaras & Eberle?)

As long as it's not a cap league I will take Kesler all day. In terms of what to do at number 2, I think you might be able to find a trade for someone better than Eberle that will give you more immediate help than the two young centres.

Just concerned Kesler has something to give by the time I'm ready to challenge.

I like the idea of trading a pick for a RW upgrade. You could always try to package the pick with Meier or even more preferably A. Nylander for a solid bump. Nylander isn't going to offer much in peripheral stats. You should see a nice improvement from N. Ritchie too, so there's some internal growth/production coming.

Acquiring Kesler isn't bad.. he's a monster in your set up. Even at 32. People over value young studs and are almost always willing to give yesterday's flavor of the day for today's. I'd even try o counter with something like RNH & a prospect or Nylander & a pick for Kesler - letting him know you're still thinking about Lee, but would prefer to keep him. and would be willing to dish a couple prospects or pick.

If you want to boost your compete year, trade tomorrow for today. only takes a couple deals to shave a year off.

I'd also use the hip surgery of Kesler to knock his value down. his age, hips... not a good combo. Try to add production without subtracting it.
