I'm happy he's re-signed with Edmonton. I'd still like to see at least one more D coming to Edmonton, ideally a legit top 4 guy, but those aren't exactly easy to find.

As I say, he's a UFA and it would have cost the Oilers this much, if not more, to replace him with another UFA Dman who can bring what he brought last year to the Oilers. As mentioned earlier, Im looking forward to seeing what Alzner gets.

This ^^^^. the 4 mil per is not an issue, I think the 4th year when he's 34 might be the issue, but Chia can deal with that then... Edm needed to do this now... Look at all the teams looking for dmen, and some of the injuries to key guys putting strain on their rosters..... Sekera/Lindholm/Vatanen...
