Pickard in Vegas v. Mason
I was originally planning to keep Pickard as a tandem with Varlamov moving into next year. We started a 3 goalie max rule in our league and I was planning to drop Steve Mason.
After Pickard's selection by Vegas, I'm thinking I have to keep Mason over Pickard.
Two questions: any chance Pickard becomes the #1 or 1b in Vegas in the next 2 years? And would you keep Mason over Pickard regardless?

Can you post a source to this? I've been looking for it. I have my fingers crossed that the Flyers bring in Pickard. I think LGK has to move a goalie as they won't carry three into the season so one has to clear waivers. I don't think Berube would make it through and Pickard has the highest trade value.

As mentioned above you have to wait for sure.
Who knows where either of these goalies will end up. Mason is a UFA and it does not sound like Flyers would bring him back.
I am interested about them bringing in pickard, especially when they protected Stolarz in the expansion draft.

For me:
Pickard stays as back-up in Vegas. 28 starts, 10w.
Mason signs with VAN for 1 or 2 yr.
Elliott signs as PHI #1 for 2-3 yr.
The upside is still with Mason, who I think is volatile, but decent over a full year.
I don't see Pickard as a future NHL G1.

The reality is that behind Talbot, I don't have a great option for a #2: Mason, Pickard, Varlamov
I was hoping one of those 4 would turn into a possible #2 option but we'll see. Pengwin, curious why you don't see Pickard as #1 material?
The possible destinations for Pickard/Mason seem to include Vancouver, Philadelphia, Arizona...
