I dont know why but I have a feeling that Vegas would be a better team if they just drafted from the available players left unprotected instead of making these side deals.

it feels like a part of a bigger McPhee plan. Try to create positive relations with as many teams as possible off the hop. Build the team from within, so Vegas feels more like a home-grown team right away. Easier to identify with & support if you've got 10 'home grown' players in year 3 in your line up

My question is: Why take Tuch though? To leave Dumba alone I'd want Eriksson Ek or Kaprizov.

And I have noticed no one giving Tallon shit for leaving Marchessault exposed, along with why trade one of them (The dman is the other, name I cannot recall) with Rielly Smith? He is not that bad of a player. What an odd move

The Chicago Wolves are their AHL team... but for next year they are splitting that teams use with STL for 2017-2018.

Technically no, but not every AHL player has an NHL contract.

On my part, I am just blown away that Anaheim would consider trading Theodore. I understand it makes sense for the sake of keeping Vatanen (plus, they have Montour), but I just never considered it possible.

they also have Larsson coming along so they're still deep on D - I think it clarifies who they prefer - Montour/Theodore

Nothing would surprise me about how Anaheim handles their D. Ultimately, Murray will defer to Randy's judgement on that, and Randy is the type of coach who would bench Jake Gardiner for Mark Fraser.
i.e. If Randy feels they already have enough "Theodore-types" I could easily see them valuing him less than other teams would.

I'd rather have Ron Wilson as a coach...
