but I like Andersen and the Leafs as a whole better than the oft injured Quick and a King's team that will be going through some changes following the Coaching staff / GM overhaul.

One team trending up... the other trending down.

And $2 million saved on the cap? That's the way I'd go.

Just because of the savings, I'll go for Andersen since he's a solid goalie on a rising team.
However, if both goalies had the same salary with the current existing conditions (age, team, ...) I would go for Quick.

Quick is aging and the new coach might open things up. Andersen probably is the pick, especially with salary factored in.

Quick for me if you are planning on using him for the upcoming season(s). Andersen will likely have more trade value though.

I'm a long time Quick fan, but I still pick Andersen. Younger goalie, less injury risk and history, and Toronto is promising to be very good for a long time.

Andersen is just going to be flat out better than Quick next year. Regardless of salary. by Xmas, there will be threads asking if he should now be considered a top 5 goalie in the league.

more gas on teh fire...Andersen for me. younger cheaper and his team is in a better spot for longer IMO.
