    Default Propect Advice Requested

Howdy all, this is the first time I've created a thread asking for advice. Any help is appreciated.

I joined my first dynasty league with a farm team (not the league in signature,) taking over a team that did fairly poorly last year. It's a 16 team H2H league and the categories are: Goals, Assists, Points, Powerplay Points, Shots On Goal, Faceoffs Won, Hits, and Blocks. I have a tenuous grasp on prospects and could use a hand appraising my farm team.

    My farm team is currently:

    Devin Shore - C/LW (Dal)
    Brady Skjei - D (NYR)
    Ivan Barbashev - C/LW (StL)
    Jayce Hawryluk - C (Fla)
    Yegor Korshkov - RW (Tor)

    Denis Malgin - C/RW (Fla)
    Lucas Johansen - D (Was)
    Riley Tufte - LW (Dal)
    Adam Mascherin - LW (Fla)
    Wade Allison - RW (Phi)
    Givani Smith - RW (Det)

After the first 5 I'm not sure there's much there. I may release the rest to the pool and get replacements through the draft and waiver wire. I have the 3rd pick in each of a 3-round Entry draft next week so I'm going to need to make room eventually. Any thoughts? Should I hang on to any of the others for and/or through next season? Thanks for any help, I'll make sure I rep and whatnot.

    I would rank them:
    Shore/Skjei
    Malgin/Tufte
    Barbashev/Hawryluk
    Mascherin/Johansen
    Korshkov
    Smith/Allison

If you only need to drop 3, my drops would be Allison, Smith and Korshkov.

From your initial post and breakdown, I would flip Tufte with Korshkov and I'd probably see them all ranked around those spots.

PS: way to muster up the courage to start your own thread. Now that the ice is broken, fire away!

In a 16 team league I think it is safe to say that you could waive half of that farm team and you wouldn't feel it.

Pretty much what jouko said. id probably have skjei as my clear best here and then I'd probably slot barb a little higher up.

    I'd rank it more like:

    Skjei

    Shore/malgin/barb/hawryluk
    tufte/masch
    Johansen

Out of interest who is on waivers at the moment?

Yeah, how many prospects can you hold and who are the best prospects on the wire?

I agree that Allison, Smith and Korshkov are the bottom three...

I also concur that Allison, Smith and Korshkov are at the bottom for me. I think Skjei and Shore are the two best with Barbashev close by.

I would move Malgin up to the keeper group, he could surprise and he's a lot closer to production than we expected.

Technically no one is on waivers at the moment, every player that qualifies for our farm team goes back into the Entry Draft for now. There were plenty of players left on the waivers at season's close though, I'll have to see how the draft play out. It's a team with a 34 man roster, 24 pro and 10 farm. Farm is under 100 games played for skaters and 50 for goaltenders as season's start.

To be honest, I wanted to hear what Moses said. I'm going to blow this mother up! Thanks everyone!

Nothing new to add as I think your top four are Skjei, Barbashev, Shore and Hawryluk. The rest could easily go back in the pool and never be claimed so you won't feel their loss.

Good on you to ask for help. Keep the questions coming.

    D: Bouchard, McAvoy, Morrissey, Heiskanen
    G: Vasilevskiy
