His goal scoring the past 2 years has been fairly consistent. 37 goals in '15-16 and 39 goals in '16-17. The big difference in points was a jump from 24 assists in '15-16 to 46 assists in '16-17.

I am going to say his goal scoring stays pretty much the same, call him good for 35 goals. I think the real Marchand is somewhere in between the '15-16 and '16-17 Marchand assist-wise, so call it 35 assists. 70 points seems like a good prediction to me. I would be more surprised by him failing to break 70 than I would by him breaking 80, though.

    14. Johnny Gaudreau (CGY)
    15. Patrik Laine (WPG)
    16. Evgeni Malkin (PIT)
    17. Mitchell Marner (TOR)
    18. Alex Ovechkin (WAS)
    19. Evgeny Kuznetsov (WAS)
    20. John Tavares (NYI)
    21. Brad Marchand (BOS)
    22. David Pastrnak (BOS)

    24. Phil Kessel (PIT)
    25. Joe Pavelski (SJ)
    26. Mikael Granlund (MIN)
I think you have Ovechkin a bit too high. Especially if he is serious about leaving for part of the season to participate in the Olympics, which it sounds like he is. I would drop him out of the top 20 easily, and maybe out of the top 25. Even if he stays and plays all 82 games I'd see him scoring a goal-heavy 65-70 pts. Seems to be his new normal.

Wow I looked it up and was surprised. The funny part is I even had him on my team this year, drafted him late 2nd and worried I overpaid... great add to the list.

yeah, the answer is Wheeler...criminally underrated in most points-only formats.

I don't know if he is top 10...truthfully, I doubt it given the emergence of players like Laine, Matthews, Marner, and Eichel who could all be top 10 next year, along with mainstays like McDavid, Crosby, Kane, etc.

That said, I think Wheeler will have another 70+ pt season, and that should be him solidly in the top 15-20 range.

this was my thought. I think Stamkos will be top 10 next year... pending a healthy season..

The guy is consistent! I don't think he has another gear to him but I do think his current one will keep on running for a few more years at least.

    Nice quiz SD!

    McDavid
    Crosby
    Kane
    Backstrom
    Draisaitl
    Stamkos
    Kucherov
    Eichel
    Scheifele
    Panarin

I dropped the DAL duo out of the top 10 (barely) due to injuries, not due to Hitch. I also wanted to put Karlsson on my top 10 list and then realized this was forwards only.

Lots of good names on the list though.
