Top 10 Forwards (pts only) for next season

I dropped the DAL duo out of the top 10 (barely) due to injuries, not due to Hitch. I also wanted to put Karlsson on my top 10 list and then realized this was forwards only.

Lots of good names on the list though.

The way to make a list like this is to start with 50 guys, and from there separate ten from the other 40. You put those 10 in order and then one by one you take each of the 40 and either put him into the top ten or not. In the end, there's your top 10. Personally, the only surefire locks would be McDavid, Crosby, Kucherov, Kane, and Backstrom.

am nit picking the top 50 for now, then when im tired of researching and getting info on these players ill go onto the next 50.

Am i crazy to want to pick Scheif over Benn or Backstrom? or at that point should i look at the guy who is more reliable and shown to be able to produce at that high of a level for many years .... hmmm

I think you have Ovechkin a bit too high. Especially if he is serious about leaving for part of the season to participate in the Olympics, which it sounds like he is. I would drop him out of the top 20 easily, and maybe out of the top 25. Even if he stays and plays all 82 games I'd see him scoring a goal-heavy 65-70 pts. Seems to be his new normal.

This is a great point. Something to keep in mind with Backstrom as well. If Ovi is allowed to go to the Olympics, Backstrom will probably go as well. Which would take him out of the top 10 running.
