for the league in my sig, what would I have to add to Jamie Benn in an offer to another GM for Scheifele/Gaudreau?

I wouldn't go for Gaudreau at all. His peripherals are horrible. Even Scheifele isn't that great when you look outside of points. I just wrote a top 10 column on the worst forwards for peripheral stats, and these two were both top three.

That being said, poolies love young guys. You'd have to give up a lot. If I were the other GM, I'd be asking for Benn/Kucherov/high pick as a starting point.

Thanks Newf. I read that piece, it was really good. Most fantasy writers focus on points only formats so its tough to find multi-cat sources. To clarify, do you mean Benn and Kucherov and a high pick? Or Benn or Kucherov and a hich pick?

With those CATS I would rather have Benn than Gaudreau AND Scheifele. This is not a move I would make.

I like the idea of getting Scheifele but I am 100% against the idea of using Benn to get Gaudreau.

Benn and Kucherov and a high pick. You're asking for two really young players that are still breaking out. The other guy is going to want you to pay, and truthfully I don't think that offer is enough.

Kind of. I've done various ones looking at specific categories. Here's one from December for top 10 dmen for blocked shots, hits and PIM. And here's one about top 10 gritty players from a year ago.

If I did top 10 best players, it would be kind of predictable (Ovi, Byfuglien, Burns, etc.). I'd probably go top 10 underrated peripheral stat guys to get some different names on the radar.

Keep Benn in your format. I doubt Benn gets outpointed by either player and even if that does happen, he will easily make up for it with his extra cats.

Ignore the sexy young names and stick with what you have in that format - do t get me wrong I will occasionally recommend tying up points as peripherals are definitely easier to acquire on the wire but this isn't one of those
