Stone - he's solid and consistent, while Guentzel, despite looking great, is still an uncertainty.
Try to trade Guentzel if you can, to capitalize on his name value. Maybe him and one of the Calgary guys for a more elite forward?
Greetings,
New to the forum, first post and all that. I'm wondering which player is the better keep, indefinitely.
12 team league
2c/2lw/2rw/2d/1g
g/ppg/shg/gwg/a/ppa/w/so
head to head format
I've got: seguin, draisaitl, laine, monahan, gaudreau, stone or guentzel, byfuglien, ghostisbehere, holtby.
Tempted by Stone entering his prime, but also like Guentzel's likely playing partners.
Thoughts?
Thanks.

I would also roll with Stone here. Guentzel may end up being as good as Stone but until I see it, I'd rather own Stone.

Stone for me. Too much proven production to take G over him.
I wouldn't trade Guentzel for Stone, he has too much upside playing alongside Crosby so I probably wouldn't keep Stone over him in a 12 team keeper where a player like Stone is probably available through draft.
though if you want the consistency and someone who rarely misses a game, Stone is a good choice but less upside he struggles periodically throughout the season and always ends up around 60ish, I can see Guentzel getting 70 easily if he can stay healthy

Honestly you can't go wrong with either. Stone is more proven but Guentzel is more tempting. Perhaps package both of them for an upgrade at F? Or one of them with someone else for an upgrade.
If I had to choose I would pick Guentzel myself, just because I like him more. But the point disparity between the two will likely never be more than 10 (with both healthy seasons)

I can't list my 2nd main keeper as there are too many players, but it is a keep all H2H points-only league
Stone is the safe pick, but from what I've seen having watched him throughout the playoffs I'd be keeping Guentzel here.
I'm assuming both are the same wing and positions don't matter as much to you here, but I'd hang onto Stone and look to capitalize on the Guentzel name value. Stone has a 55pt floor and if G gets there next year that's a huge year.

I take Stone, he has proven he can produce on his own yet we haven't really seen much of Guentzel without Crosby

The smart money is with Stone as most have said. However I think I would personally keep Guentzel. I'm convinced.

(No I don't have a hockey problem...)
I'd go with Stone.
Guentzel has looked great, but it's been 57 games. I want to see him produce without Sid for an extended period before I'm ranking him ahead of steady 60 point players.
I'd go with Guentzel as well. Stone is pretty much a 55-65 point guy. Guentzel might get that but has upside for more.
And since your league rewards goal-scoring more, I'd go with bigger goal-scoring threat in Guentzel.

Goalies: Kochetkov, Talbot, Vasilevskiy, Campbell, Schmid
Thanks everyone for the responses. I'll take it all into consideration when it comes time to set my keepers.
Its pretty much split right now.
Stone or Guentzel.
Everyone is saying Stone is the safer pick but they would keep Guentzel. Mind ****!!
You're not winning or losing your pool with this decision. I think Stone is the safer pick and I would keep him. His off year can't be as bad as a Guentzel off year and Stone has enough offensive potential to swing the lever over to his side.
The bottom line is risk management.
Swing for the fences in the draft, not with your keeper selections.
