point production probaby Drouin
Just wondering, which forward do you view as better in terms of point production and ceiling: Jonathan Drouin or Sean Monahan? Thanks!
point production probaby Drouin

I'm gambling on Drouin for sure. Both have decent floors but I think I like Drouin's ceiling more. Who knows who actually pans out with the big upside, but right now I'm still thinking Drouin. Monahan could turn out to be a two way center who gets 60ish points, or maybe he goes into Getzlaf territory. I don't know. But Drouin will mainly be asked to produce offense and if he succeeds then the ceiling could be extremely high, especially in Tampa.

Monaghan for me - not convinced Drouin reaches that ceiling in that forward group - now if he gets a move then all bets are off. Monaghan is Gadreau's running mate (and arguably his only one at C) and will go where he goes and I think he has a better season that he showed this year

i'll take drouin easily here. sulla is correct that it might be difficult for him to reach his ceiling with tampa's forward group, but I still think his downside is around the same as Monahan's upside! and if he does reach his ceiling, he'll be one of the top forwards in the league. to me this is a low risk, high reward choice. and those are the easiest ones to make.
Points only, Drouin for me.

I own Monahan but I give the edge to Drouin here

Depends if positions matter.
Safe bet is monahan, But I do believe drouin upside is higher and I would take drouin in a pts only league for that reason

I'll say here what I've said in all the other Drouin threads over the lat 1+ months - I see Drouin as shaping up like Brayden Schenn 2.0 in terms of points output. Great on the PP, but unlikely to take that big step to put him at or much above the 60 point level. You can read my cage match on him via the link in my signature.

Monahan is a great multi-cat Centre, but for points and ceiling it's gotta be Drouin, with ceiling implying that it's not his typical production. Monahan's consistency could trump Drouin's actual production in many seasons.
