Carlson+ for Klefbom+

I trade: John Carlson and Martin Jones
I receive: Oscar Klefbom and Frederik Anderson

I think Carlson is going to bounce back, but Klefbom is looking like the man in Edmonton.

I believe Jones is the more talented goalie, but Anderson has the more talented (and much younger) team in front of him.

The deal is pretty fair IMO, for the reasons you mentioned, plus I worry about Jones a bit given that he took a bit of a step back last season and SJ might be poised to do worse as a team in the coming years. Keep in mind though, Carlson has lots of value in that league due to blocks and ATOI.

On paper, I think you could spin this deal with a straight face as one where you're getting a bit of the short end, so could you try to add a third player from each side - maybe a prospect? - where you might come out a bit more ahead?

i don't have belief that Carlson is teh guy everybody thinks he is...and give me Andersen over Jones.

Make the deal. I like both klefbom and Andersen more than what you're giving. Edmonton and TO are only getting better, SJ and Washington have peaked.

I prefer Carlson to Klefbom and I prefer Jones to Andersen so it's a ''politely decline'' from me.

Andersen & Klefbom, here. Jones only appears to be the better goalie due to the team in front of him the past two years. Compare their numbers this year, consider the team in front of each. And the D in front of each.

Andersen is he 1st stat line...now give him an improved defence next season. It won't be close. Andersen is better. and will be playing with a better team, possibly as soon as 17/18 season

I'm with Axe here. Personally I like the Klef/Andersen side a touch more though. As Rizzee said if you can get a small piece added then it's a win for you.

Agree with others here... I think it's a fair deal so it's going to be on your gut. Personally I think both d men will be better next season and I think both goalies are worse lol issue will be predicting who swings more

As an owner of both dmen, I like Klefbom by a bit. I see a big season coming from the big guy. All his underlying numbers show that he could explode onto the scene next season. 45-50 points isn't out of the realm of possibility.

Carlson has been inconsistent and injury prone over the past couple years. If shattenkirk moves on (which is likely) Carlson takes the PP1 spot again. And on that PP he could put up 40-50. But that's a lot of if's.

Since it's so close on the D side, the Goalies should sway your decision. And in this case, I like Andersen. TOR is an up and coming team who could win a division soon, as early as next year. SJ is going in the other direction. Jones is a solid G but he struggled a bit this season. That could be a sign of things to come.

Jones and Andersen are pretty even in this league and I prefer Carlson over Klefbom.

Funny how Klefbom improving because of underlying numbers is a sure thing but Carlson staying healthy is a big if. Shattenkirk will definitely move on, he wasn't really a fit in Washington anyways.
