What are your expectations for him next year. It looks like he has found a new gear for the playoffs after a very disappointing regular season

Rene Bourque once did this as well.

If anyone still has him now is the time to sell....
Experience is the teacher of all things.
I'd have more faith in him but since he can't even spell i-n-t-e-n-s-e i would try and sell high. Fool me once boy!
20 goals and 15 assists would be a good year for him in Las Vegas.

I agree that it's time to sell high while he's in playoff mode. At best he still has a chance at 50, mayyyybe 55, everything would need to go right though.

I think 50 points is about his upside, but he'd need to stay healthy to get there. That part worries me.
There's absolutely no scenario in my mind that I can think of that sees Ryan anywhere but Ottawa for the foreseeable future. Unless he is traded for someone like Dustin Brown (the only contract I can think of with a contract as bad...)
I'm staying away next year. I wasn't convinced there was value at the start of last season and this playoff run isn't changing my mind on him.

IR (2 max):
Ryan is simply not a player than can play a steady, focused game for 82gp.
There's a select few in the NHL that have really excellent tools, but no pace: Evander Kane, Michael Grabner.
These guys can buckle down and be really fantastic players when they want... but its an impossible gear to maintain for a full regular season.
Bobby Ryan is a 65pt player when he's focused... and a 40pt player when he's not.
So - I agree with others... he's a 50pt guy over the course of a full fantasy season.
Claude Lemieux played well in the playoffs too.

That wasn’t easy for me to do. For most of my life, I’ve been asked to make plays by floating to the outside and putting pucks on net. Suddenly I was being asked to be more physical and screen goalies to help set up chances for other guys.
That meant fewer scoring opportunities for myself, which, for most of my career — and according to people at the grocery store — me not scoring has meant failure. There were stretches this year where I’d be doing everything the team asked of me, and doing it fairly well, but I wouldn’t show up on the score sheet for four or five games at a time. At one point, I went 16 games without a goal, which felt awful.

Hi Clarkie,
I'd if you can swing a deal involving Ryan and add picks and slot another roughly equal-value player from your current roster in as a keeper (or if you weren't keeping him just add free picks) I'd say do it. Essentially agree with the above statements that you know the Ryan Ceiling is 50-55pts and the floor is a bunch lower than it looked at this time last year.

2011-12 Champion and rubbish since
on tsn facebook page they posted an article and bobby ryan said he had to stop going to the grocery store because lots of fans kept going up to him and trying to give him tips during his goal drought. must be annoying having someone try and tell you how to do your job. i seen carey price in a subway restaurant once and knew it was him but just left him alone. gotta think sometimes they dont want to answer questions and just do what they gotta do and go home
Not sure how everyone can be so quick to take a dump on the man who only had Sid picked ahead of him in his daft year.
He scored 30+ goals each of his first 4 years in the league, including 31 in 64 his rookie season.
I think his ceeling is much higher than the 50 points that's being thrown around. If he sticks with this teams solid top 6 and plays on a PP1 QB'd by #65, there's no reason he can't regain his confidence and ride it to being a 30/30 guy at least.
