Eastern Conference Final: Pittsburgh vs. Ottawa

Underrated aspect of this series is stylistically, it's a much easier matchup for Pittsburgh. Columbus and Washington tried to pound Pittsburgh into submission. This will just be a skating series. That helps a team that has some great skaters, but not many big bodies.

Actually, Columbus demolished the Penguins and Fleury won that series on his own. The Penguins have been outplayed for the majority of their series' thus far.

15-5-3 I think I remember reading and goes as proof of my earlier posts that the Sens play better against skilled teams due to their structure and system.

Goaltending is a big part of the game, as Anderson has so amply demonstrated. Other than game 5, where the Jackets played like the wounded animals they were, I don't think the Pens were outplayed. And their PP is lethal. Anyway, we shall see soon enough.

Can't find it now, but I read an article about Columbus' shots and a large proportion were of the low danger variety. Corsi doesn't account for shot quality.

I watched long stretches of every game except for Game 2 I think it was. If Bobrovsky is even average and the Penguins powerplay wasn't something like 33% all series, Columbus wins that series fairly easily in my opinion. They controlled the play and looked dominant from what I saw.

I did not watch every second of every game. I haven't even looked at Corsi numbers as someone suggested for proof and never really have. I just watched what I could.

Pittsburgh won. End of story. I just see another favourable matchup for Ottawa this upcoming round. The Sens couldn't have wished for 3 better opponents in the first 3 rounds. Boston, then New York and now Pittsburgh is a dream for Sens fans who know their system and stylistic matchups.

I am eagerly awaiting this next series.
