    Site: Fantrax
    Main Roster: 23 Players
    Active Roster: 19-20 Players (12 Forwards, 6 Defenceman & 1 or 2 Goalies)
    Minor Affiliate Roster: 23 Players
    Total: 46 Players

Scoring Categories: 10 Categories (7 Skater and 3 Goalie)
Schedule: Matchups are 2 Days Long
Matchups: Roughly 70 Regular Season Games (Determined by length of NHL Schedule)
    Playoffs: Best of 3 Format
Prizes: A custom NHL Jersey will be awarded to the first owner to win 2 Fantasy Championships.

    Synopsis:
This league will be the fantasy equivalent to the NHL with minor alterations because we are dealing with fantasy (of course). We also have our own Commissioner (our sponsor) who will not own a team. But instead oversee the League. He will have the following duties:
    - Clarify Rules
    - Conduct Draft Lotteries
    - Make Tough Decisions and Rulings
    - Make sure there is no collusion amongst owners
    - Take care of all teams info (salaries, contract, rosters etc.)

Listed below is all the important league info you will need to know:

DRAFT: There will be 2 drafts. 1 hour time limit per pick. There will be an 8 hour sleep time. During the sleep time, the pick clock stops moving. If an owner misses his/her pick, they will be given the top ranked player (available) via Fantrax score.
Main Draft: The first draft will be the main draft. A 23 round snake draft. Any player (signed to an NHL team) that has atleast 82 GP in the NHL, may be drafted.
Entry Draft: The second draft will be the entry draft. A 23 round snake draft. Any player (signed to an NHL team) that has less than 82 GP in the NHL may be drafted.
Lottery: Lottery will be held live once the league is full. Date and time TBD. The winner of the Lottery will pick 1st in the main draft, which means they will also pick last in the entry draft to even things out.

Salaries: We will be using current NHL player salaries.
Contracts: We will not be using the same contracts as the NHL though. The length of a players contract is up to you! You will receive 50 total contract years to spread amongst your team. There will be a maximum of 3 years allowed per player.
Entry Draft Contracts: Any player drafted in the Entry Draft will be assigned the contract length that they currently have in the NHL. You do not get to choose for these players. These contract years will not count against your 50 year cap.

Salary Cap: The salary cap, as well as the cap floor, will always be the exact same as the NHL.

Team Captains: We have a little twist. Every year, owners may name their team captain, as well as 2 assistant captains. The team captain can receive a contract of up to 10 years! The team captain may also slot in to multiple positions. If your team captain is a forward, they may slot into all 3 forward positions (C, LW, RW). If your team captain is a defenceman, they may slot into 2 wing (LW, RW) positions, as well as defense. If your team captain is a goalie, they will still only be allowed at the goalie position.
Assistant Captains: Assistant captains may receive a contract of up to 5 years! If your assistant captain is a forward, they will be able to slot into 2 different forward positions. Their natural position will count as 1. Defense assistant captains may be slotted in at 1 of the wing positions (RW, LW) as well as defense. Goalies, again, may only slot in at the goalie position.

Re-Signing a Player: At any time, you may choose to resign a player to the salary he currently has in the NHL. Once again, the contract years are up to you! (Maximum of 3 years, unless the player is a captain).
Teams will be allowed to resign 2 players every year.

Unrestricted Free Agency: If a player?s contract ends (and he is over the age of 25) and you choose not to resign him, the player will enter Unrestricted Free Agency. All teams will be allowed to bid on free agents during the free agency window. The maximum bid per year will be 15% of the salary cap (Currently $11M). The maximum contract years will be 3. Giving us a current maximum total bid of $33M.

Restricted Free Agency: If a player?s contract ends (and he is under the age of 26), and you choose not to resign him, the player will enter Restricted Free Agency. It?s the same as unrestricted free agency, except, the team that owns the player may choose to match any bid.

    Bidding Rules:
    - The first bid must be a minimum of 1M.
    - Every bid must be atleast 1M higher than the last bid.

    Buyouts:
We use the same buyout structure as the NHL.
There will be a limit of 1 buyout per team every year.

    Cap Hits:
Cap hits will always be in effect. Doesn?t matter if a player retires or is placed on long term injury reserve. These types of players may still be bought out though.

    Waivers:
We use the same waiver system as the NHL. But you CANNOT bury a contract in the minors. Players that clear waivers will stay on the main roster.

    Minors:
A player with less than 82 games of NHL experience may be placed in the minors without clearing waivers. If a player reaches 82 GP while in the minors, he may stay down there until he is called up. But once called up, he stays up.

    Trades:
Trades are definitely allowed and will be passed through the Commissioner to make sure there is no collusion involved. Once the Commissioner approves of the trade, the trade will become official.

    Lineups:
    4 Centres
    4 Right Wing
    4 Left Wing
    6 Defense
    2 Goalies
    3 Bench Slots
    3 Injured Slots

    Injured Slots:
Any player that is injured (has a red flag) may be placed in an injured slot. Players currently on injured reserve will still count against the cap.

    Skater Scoring Categories Info:
    Goals ? 2 Points
    Assists ? 1 Point
Shootout Goals ? 1 Point for every 2 Shootout Goals
Takeaways ? 1 Point for every 10 takeaways
Blocks ? 1 Point for every 10 blocks
Giveaways ? Minus 1 Point for every 10 Giveaways
Penalty Minutes ? Minus 1 Point for every 11 Penalty Minutes
    Goalie Scoring Categories Info:
Goals Against ? Minus 1 Point for every goal against
Saves ? 1 Point for every 10 saves
Shootout Saves ? 1 Point for every 2 Shootout Saves
Note: These scoring categories give us a real NHL game feel. On average, teams can expect to score 4 points per matchup. Giving us almost an NHL equivalent score line such as 3-2 or 4-1.

    Tiebreakers:
Tiebreaker will be awarded to the team with the best bench/reserve players.
    Playoff Tiebreakers:
For Games 1 and 3, the higher seed will win the tiebreaker.
For Game 2, the lower seed will win the tiebreaker

    Playoff Format:
    - All rounds are a best of 3 format.
    - Top 22 teams will advance to the playoffs.
    - Top 10 teams will receive a 1st round bye.
    - Bottom 10 teams will compete in a consolation bracket for the 1st overall pick.
    - Bottom 6 teams will receive a bye to the second round of the consolation bracket.

    Minor League Format:
Same format as the top league.
Except there is no consolation bracket for the bottom 10 teams.
The champion of the Minor league will receive 1 extra resigning (giving them 3 total) for the upcoming off season.

    Miscellaneous Info:
All owners will need to be on the KIK App to connect with our Commissioner who will be making announcements in the League Chatroom.

Interested owners must apply to [email protected]
Once an application is received, you will receive a response email with 5 questions about the league info posted above.
The first 32 owners to pass their set of 5 questions will be awarded a team in the NFHL.
Once you have been awarded a team, you may choose a team name. The team name must be from the OHL, WHL or QMJHL.

League was a BUST, Commish was secretly controlling, perhaps 2 or even more teams.
If you look a couple of Threads below, this league was posted before, got to 30 owners and imploded in the same weekend. As previously said by SuperMario, Tons of drama and the Commish who is not supposed to own a team owned multiple teams.

Just sharing if, like me, you were really interested by the set of rules and you plan rush to prepare your draft for this League.

Which team were you Stencil? I was Gatineau. I got called a troll for pointing this out, yet was 100% in on this league until the drama hit and "Commish Jones" got exposed as the owner of at least 2 teams - or at least that's what it seemed like when I removed myself from the league. Could have been trolls "claiming" to be the commish to start even more drama - either way, nope.

I tried pitching these rules to the new league I'm starting up in the fall but it didn't pass the vote. Pity - really unique set of rules.

I was Chicoutimi. I was definitely not a troll, I did not know anyone and did not write anything in the chat room. I just observed. I also liked the original rules that I did not see anywhere before.
