    Default Esa Lindell

What does he become? He is getting PP time, but does that disappear when Honka arrive?

    Lindell
    - started the year with a minor injury/sickness
    - missed the first couple games
    - started playing average 15 min a game when he got back
    - scratched for a game
    - sent down for a few
    - recalled and has played over 20 minutes for every game except a half dozen or so.
    - has averaged around 23 minutes since Feb 1
    - is a +9 on a terrible Dallas team. Next best defender is Klingberg at +1. Everyone else is a minus.
    - only shooting about 1.2 times a game, that needs to increase to around 2.

He was really gaining momentum as the year went on.

Lindell will highly depend on what Hitch thinks of him.

    New coach changes everything.

I might be wrong on this one, but from what I remember, Lindell is a right hand shot and the other offensive dmen the stars have are left hand shots. that gives him a nice advantage over honka.
but regardless of that, I think Hitchcock is gonna love Lindell. he plays a much better defensive game than honka or klingberg, so he's gonna get his minutes. not saying he's gonna take over the PP from klingberg, but not sure honka is gonna be a thread to him. that doesn't mean honka won't be really good either, but just not at the expense of Lindell.

    I agree with forsbergfan

but it's the other way around...

    Lindell is a lefty.....and Klingberg/Honka/Stephens are righties.

Unfortunately I don't see big offensive numbers in his future. He's a tweener to me, on the fence between offensive 40-point guy and two-way 30-point guy. I'll go with the latter. Big minutes but more of a PP2 guy as he gets used in important defensive situations.

good call!!! I knew that he was on the other side of the other guys.
and I do agree with ericdaoust - I don't see Lindell ever being a huge point producer either way - he's not gonna hit 50 points, but he could hover around 40 on average. he'll be most usefull in multi-cat leagues that counts hits and blocks, where he will be awesome!

Agree with the bolded. Although I think he' got 50pt potential, he's going to have to more than earn the added ice time to get there

Only 23 dmen in the entire league had 40 points this year. I highly doubt Lindell gets there without very favorable conditions.

*cough* Benn, Seguin, Klingberg, PP time *cough*

Honka is the unfavourable element though...

PP1 is possible but the league trend is going towards 4F 1D. In that case Klingberg has the lone spot locked up.

I see a Seabrook like potential.

Anywhere from 30-50 points in a given year.

Playing big minutes and PP2 (worst case).
