From what I read, they didn't want to commit $13 million for a guy that has had problems staying healthy. Even if he does have a monster year, they can use the franchise tag on him. Still, it's painful being a Bills fan. What a disaster this trade was...

5^th yr option = 13.258 (Guaranteed money too….injuriessssss)
Franchise Tag = Roughly $14.85mill

They did the right thing, even tho the trade was (9^th-2014, 19^th-2015, 115^th-2015) a lot for him, especially when Mack went right after him, or Evans going at 7, or OBJ at 12.
