Default What to do next.. (REP)

So here's the deal folks. I finished first in the regular season with my team, then proceeded to blow it in the semis and finished third. We have a drop 10 keep 20 system with 7 farmers and I'm deciding on my next step. Who to drop, who to trade while stock is high and who to deal whose stock is low and won't recover. I'd love to hear any feedback from people about anything about my team.
I'll REP any response, as I need as much info from people as possible.

Cats are: G A PPP Shots plus/minus SHP GWG PIM W SV% GAA SO

    Here's my team

I'll start by saying you've got a really good team. A bit forward heavy but I'm guessing it's the deepest starting positing hence your success. Given my assumption, my keepers for your team would be:

    Crosby
    Benn
    Marchand
    Bergeron
    Kessel
    Simmonds

    Provorov
    Faulk

    Rask
    Elliott

Bishop possibly depending where he lands for Faulk or Elliott (kind of depending on position importance and redraft specific to your league that you'll know more about than me).

You should get great trade value for carter, Giroux, and Lucic (gotta be keepers on someone's team). I'd like to see you try to upgrade to a top end defencemen if possible as I feel that's your weakest position. Next priority would be a goalie upgrade but I don't mind Rask and Elliot for next year (I think Calgary doesn't start as terribly as they did this year, should be better). Hope that helps and good luck!

Quick question first, how many teams in your league, really could change the goalie value.

    Patrice Bergeron
    Sidney Crosby
    Jeff Carter
    Jamie Benn
    Brad Marchand
Patrick Eaves - Depending on where he lands
    Jason Spezza
    Phil Kessel
    Brayden Point
    Claude Giroux
    Wayne Simmonds
Joe Thornton - Depending on where he lands
    Tyler Bozak

    Ivan Provorov
    Tyson Barrie
    Brent Seabrook
    Justin Faulk
    TJ Brodie

    Brian Elliott
    Ben Bishop
    Tuukka Rask

Any of the above I would be happy to keep. Whatever two you can trade to get the best value of picks then go for it. The others I cut I would take whatever I can get for them.

You got sme decent players, I would try some 2-1 trades for upgaded players. Even keeping Danial & Henrik wouln;t hurt or throwing one in with a trade of a keeper.
Check the bottom teams in the league to see who has least depth. No use wasting assets.

Like EB's list TBH and also agree with his approach... Trade return will play a part here

I like that list too. Curious as to why Parise wasn't on it, but nonetheless one Ive copied and pasted and will be going over in greater detail. Haven't even thought about not keeping pickard, though with Stolarz and Sorokin on my farm maybe it is time

With 12 teams in your league you definitely don't need Picard. And where some people see Giroux as on the edge of a cliff on the way down, I see Parise already halfway through the fall. He's basically done as a fantasy asset in my books.

Interesting. I love Giroux, and his value has gone down some for sure. I can't help but think its the system thats not helping. Still, would be difficult to get real value for him.

Agreed. He's not a sell right now because all this talk of him falling off actually has most managers valuing him lower than he should be.

I would keep the nine guys in bold black (yes Giroux is there) then make a decision on one of the guys in red.

I flipped and flopped on Lucic. He is a likely keep in this format. If you don't hold him he is likely an early round pick (depending on the exact league set up). His combination of PPP, +/-, PIM on top of the points that he should put up make him valuable.

Kessel is probably my 10th keeper. Nothing against Bergeron or Carter but centres should be much easier to redraft.

Bishop was a keep for me. Risky, sure. But a Rask/Bishop tandem right from the start means you can spend all of you high picks on skaters. This tandem could be one of the leagues best, depending on where Bishop lands.

Provorov/Faulk? Toss up for me here. But from a long-term keeper perspective I think I want to roll the dice on Provorov.

Have not read the other responses so as not to change my response.

    Here's my take:

    Patrice Bergeron Bos -Keep
    Sidney Crosby -Keep
    Jeff Carter -Keep
    Jamie Benn - Keep
    Brad Marchand -Keep
    Zach Parise - Keep
    Patrick Eaves - Keep
    Jason Spezza - Keep
    Phil Kessel - Keep
    Brayden Point - Keep
    Claude Giroux - Keep
    Wayne Simmonds - Keep
Daniel Sedin - Drop, they are on the heavy decline.
Henrik Sedin - Drop, same reason as his brother.
    Joe Thornton - Drop
    Jason Pominville - Drop
    Travis Zajac - Drop
    Tyler Bozak - Drop
    Milan Lucic - Keep

    Ivan Provorov - Keep
    Tyson Barrie - Keep
    Brent Seabrook - Keep
    Justin Faulk - Keep
    TJ Brodie - Drop
    Ben Hutton - Drop
    Mike Green Det - Drop

    Brian Elliott Cgy - G - Keep
    Ben Bishop LA - G - Keep
    Tuukka Rask Bos - G - Keep
    Calvin Pickard Col - G - Drop

Spezza, the Sedins, Thornton, Parise, Bozak, Green you could potentially find some value in and I would move any of them/replace.

    Best of luck!
