When Toronto scored their first goal of the game last night the entire bar at my school went apeshit. It's impossible not to be happy for them, even as a Habs fan. Of course that ends when they get in Montreal's way.

Yes - why do you say that? Seeing a bunch of friends and family finally enjoy playoff hockey and a promising future for their team is enjoyable and that's why I'm happy for them. Don't think it's necessary to take that much exception to my opinion, buddy.

OK. Sorry but I just don't understand. No Leaf fan would be happy to see Sens or Habs go far in playoffs. I want rival fans to suffer and not be happy.

I generally cheer for other Canadian teams, so I guess I'm a casual fan. Really, though, if it doesn't affect the Jets in any negative way (playoff race, etc.), then yes, I'll cheer for Canadian teams, followed by teams/players that I like in particular. If a certain team has players or an overall team make-up that I'm not a fan of (Vancouver's pretty drab right now, for example), I won't cheer for them, but I find that there's good reason to like and cheer for all of the Canadian teams in the playoffs right now.

I feel the same way. I have a lot of friends that are Leafs fans and I was happy for them to have that moment. It's a great story.

fun to watch even for the hardcore fans of specific teams. As much as I want the Leafs rivals to suffer horrific and awful defeats, I still root for amazing hockey league wide. All the games last night were great. the Ott-Bos game had a really sh--ty ending is all.
