    Default Troy Stecher?

A guy that's flown under the radar but that I've been watching a lot, he appears to be Vancouver's #1/best defenseman right now according to pure stats and articles, but I don't follow the Canucks closely enough to know exactly his full potential. What do you guys think of him and his play?

    I like him a lot.

In fantasy land, I could see him emerging into a 2013-2016 Torey Krug type of producer (40ish points, 180-200 shots, mediocre blocks/hits).

I like Stecher too, but I'm afraid he will become Vancouver's 2nd best defenseman as soon as Juolevi comes up and becomes what they expect him to become. However, I see Stecher being a solid 35-40 point guy who likes to shoot and adds some hits and blocks as well.

Agree with what has already been posted... Also his numbers won't be helped by his lack of support up front right now

If you roster 5 or 6 Dmen he could be a good final D spot filler to draft late. Not huge in peripheral stats, but should give some decent production & 1st pp time moving forward. it'll be a couple years before Juolevi makes any difference (a year in the AHL, then a year gaining minutes/responsibility with the Canucks). The key for Stecher will most likely be a demotion of Edler to 2nd pair and stick with a HEALTHY Tanev gaining top minutes. Tanev is a solid stay at home guy, who would give him more room to push the play.

Does the signing of Del zotto negate Stechers upside? I'm assuming those 2nd PP pairing minutes are Del zottos to lose out of training camp now.

I would be surprised if they took Stecher off his pairing with Edler - I think it might be MDZ/Tanev Guds/Hutton Edler/Stecher. 1pp will have to wait see what Green wants or likes.

Stecher wasn't getting massive PP points anyways.

Particularly since nothing is really changing in Vancouver. No big injection of talent or anything. Hopefully he will play a full season, grow a bit in his game, and put up around 30 points like you said.
