Also Ev, just ignore iwinthings childish attacks. He's very aggressive, angry, and immature but he's quite easy to ignore. Like an insignificant bully, he feeds off you trying to attack him back once he starts the keyboard warrior bit. Just don't respond or acknowledge, it's much more peaceful that way.

    Fair enough.

If he was, he would have achieved it last season.
Now that would have been impressive. A 40 goal, 80 point rookie.

Surely there is no way that Panarin can improve his game over time, or that Patrick Kane can ever hit 100 points again.

I actually think there is a lower than 10% chance Kane will ever hit 100 points again, and I think the incremental improvement to Panarin's game will be on the defensive end. He wasn't an 18 year old rookie, he was a 24 year old rookie. He was so successful because his offensive game was already developed.

Statistically speaking you're misusing that term. Regression could be positive or negative towards the the mean.

I think its possible he was more tentative with his shot as he a) acclimated to the nhl and b) deferred a bit more often to a superstar linemate. Even a 50 shot bump which isnt outside of the reqlm of possibility would see a nice bump with his skills as a world class sniper. I can see one more step coming fwiw. Im nit an owner but id be banking on 70-75 with a fairly reasonable chance to add 5-10 to that. I can see a couple superstar seasons in him. Great post btw- thanks for sharing...
