    Default Fredrick Andersen

    Not a whole lot but.....

Maple Leafs coach Mike Babcock said that "ideally" Frederik Andersen (upper body) will be available on Sunday.
Andersen had to leave Saturday's game after suffering a blow to the head when he was run into by Tom Sestito. The obvious concern is that he might have suffered a concussion and we don't have much in the way of details thus far. However, if Babcock thinks that Andersen playing on Sunday is a possibility, then that suggests that Andersen doesn't appear to be concussed. We'll have to wait for more information though. Garret Sparks has been recalled, so I think there is some doubt. We're talking about a head injury, and sometimes you don't feel the real pain until waking up the next day.

They should just rest him. NO sense in risking injury again. Ottawa and Washington are great teams who they will lose to either way

From what I've read I think he'll be ready to start the play offs... Ideally wanted him to go last night but the truth is they didn't need him and not playing him was probably more sensible

Babcock has insisted that both Zaitsev and Andersen will be ready for the playoffs. He said “Upper body injury” was the extent of his description of Zaitsev’s injury, adding “not” when asked if he was concerned Zaitsev would miss Thursday’s game.

Then Babcock said he expects Andersen to be ready for practice, but they cancelled their practice today, they need rest, so we’ll have to wait till tmo (Tuesday) before we see if Andersen and Zaits are playing. Had Toronto gotten the point to play Ottawa they would have been playing Wednesday, so the slight bonus of playing Washington is another days rest.
