Default Help Ranking Some Of My Prospects

    Hi,

CATs are in my signature. How would you rank the following prospects? (I have tried to tier them, probably not completely accurate)

    ----
    Dubois, Pierre-Luc (R) LW - CBJ
    Demko, Thatcher (R) G - VAN
    ----
DeBrusk, Jake (R) LW - BOS
    Girard, Samuel (R) D - NSH
    Myers, Philippe (R) D - PHI
    Nielsen, Andrew (R) D - TOR
Milano, Sonny (R) LW - CBJ
    ----
    Copley, Pheonix (R) G - WSH
    Clague, Kale (R) D - LA
Senyshyn, Zach (R) RW - BOS
    -----
    Gaudette, Adam C - VAN
    Hintz, Roope LW - DAL
Scherbak, Nikita (R) RW - MON
    Butcher, Will D - COL
    ----

    Thanks for any replies

I would move Phillipe Myers up behind Demko. Next Id move Milano up to the top of the 2nd grouping. I think you have Scherbak too low and Id move him up above Copley. Andrew Nielson is someone Im not overly high on mainly because Toronto has better, young options that will limit him going forward.

Outside of perhaps Dermott, I can't think of another D I would put in front of Nielsen, who are you thinking of?

Curious, why are you so low on Copley? He has good AHL numbers this year, and with Wash poised to lose Grubauer, I would think that Copley would get a shot at the backup job next season. I guess he is getting to the age (just turned 25) where you wonder if he will stick in the show.

What do you think of Copley vs Anton Forsberg?

I just don't think he has any potential to become an NHL starter, and backups are easy to find.

Copley vs Forsberg, could go either way depending on the day. Neither one is really high-end.

Rielly, Gardiner, Zaitsev, and even Carrick. All of those kids are going to limit any offensive upside in the NHL for Nielson because those guys will be eating most of the PP time, which is really Nielson's strength once he gets to the NHL (assuming he gets to the NHL).

It's great to rank Nielson as a prospect, but if the NHL upside/opportunity isn't there then who cares where he ranks as a prospect. I just don't think Nielson's opportunity in Toronto (with the Leafs, not the Marlies) is all that great because they have better offensive Dmen in front of him, and all are going to be signed long term very shortly.

I might even consider kids like Lindren ahead of Nielsen. Valiev isn;t out of the question at this point either. Still early for him.
