I own McAvoy and I would trade him for Keller or Puljujarvi but not any of the others.

I wouldn't trade Keller, Pulju or Boeser for McAvoy but you might not get him without giving up one of them. If you can get McAvoy with Sam Steel, then definitely do that. Otherwise I would probably just let him be if those are your options.

I might actually trade Aho for McAvoy+ since I think Aho's value is very high right now.

I'd also try Sam Steel but I doubt it gets it done. Good place to start though.

I would, but it depends on your team situation, league stats, needs etc. On best player available, after Patrick and Hischier, yes. The guy will be in the NHL next year and may easily stick the whole year in the top 4.

I wouldn't either. The 3rd overall pick should have more value, so at least ask for McAvoy+ if you're going to make the deal. And don't make the deal until closer to the draft when draft picks have highest value.

I could be wrong here but I find the hype around McAvoy is getting out of hand.

If it is the 3rd overall pick to select among 18 year olds in this upcoming draft, I do it for what I see is a legit NHLer. No guarantee anyone outside the top 2 in this prospect draft see the NHL this year (in fact, probably unlikely.. though camp is a zillion miles away). Depends on what your team needs IMO, but I do think today, McAvoy would be the best player available after Nolan and Nico... So I would make the deal based on that. Again, without knowing anything to do with cap, categories, roster sizes etc...

I'm not so sure McAvoy will be in the NHL next season, at least all season long. His offensive game looked good but his defensive game wasn't NHL level yet in the playoffs. Of course that can all change before the next season starts but I think calling him a lock for a full season in the NHL might be expecting too much. He could need AHL time based on what I saw.

But yes, the prospects who are available at 3rd overall will most likely need another year in junior as well, so no advantage for them either. But I think their upside is worth it.

Agree... I also would argue - the anti-hype on what comes after #2 in this years draft is out of hand. That, is primarily due to media... yet, Cody Glass, who will struggle to become a #2 C in the NHL gets Scheifele comparisons. mesh these two hype worlds together, we get this.

I don't think I'd move any of those forwards for McAvoy outside of Steel and maybe Eriksson-Ek.

He's a really good player but I don't see 55+ point upside which is what I would want if I'm giving up a forward who has top line potential - which most of those guys do.
