    Default Tyson Jost

what do you think he will do next year
personally I see him reaching close to 50 points next year depending on who they get for either Duchene or Landeskog I think they keep one, he probably plays with Mackinnon and if he breaks out; Jost could go along for the ride and challenge for Calder. No way Colorado is as bad next season as they were this.

I think 50 points is a bit too high for next season. But he could get 40 points if he plays the full season in the NHL.

I would be surprised if he gets close to 50 pts myself. I see him more in the 30-35pt range in his rookie season, assuming he plays in Colorado and not the AHL. I expect some major shakeups going on there in the off-season and not so sure they will surround him with enough talent early on to get close to 50pts. Who knows though. Looking at them this year, they have one player sitting at 50pts and leading their team in scoring. No one else, other than MacKinnon, even has 40 pts. Yikes!!

I think you could be expecting too much from Jost but anythings possible I suppose.

For his sake, I hope he spends significant time next year in the AHL. Colorado won't be any better come next season. Shelter him, don't expose him to this shit-show. Let him grow and adjust to the pros slowly.

I don't see him getting 40 NHL games next year. It's a mistake if he plays a full season, regardless of his 'readiness'.

50 is a lot. I think 40 would be a great rookie year. I'd say 30 to 35 points is more reasonable.

Does he end up at C in the NHL? I think if he gets moved to wing it slightly hurts his overall projections.

I know what you all are saying how bad Colorado is this year but think last year at this time everyone was saying how bad Toronto is and look at them now
50 points for me is if he gets top 6 and gets to play with a top player
30-40 would be more realistic but if he isn't ready they should do what the Leafs did with Nylander

Mem Cup, guaranteed involvement, he'd be a stud on a team that will win. Otherwise he's on a shit team that will lose alot. See Draisaitl as an example of what you want to do.

I don't think his ceiling is that high next season - right now I agree with the others saying 40-45 and even that I'm not convinced with as don't think he plays with Mak

Toronto added Matthews, Marner and Nylander for this season. Jost isn't going to have the same impact as one of those players, not to mention three. Colorado will only add Jost and maybe Patrick if things go perfectly for them but Patrick is at similar level as Jost, so again not similar impact as Matthews, Marner and Nylander.

Toronto also added JVR who missed most of last season and Zaitsev who has been solid for them. Their coach is also much better than Colorado's. I don't see any similarities between those two teams.

Let him spend at least 1.5 years in the AHL.

Whats the rush? Next Christmas he should be an NHL regular if he demonstrates his trade in the AHL.

I wouldn't count on his NHL production next year.

They should have just left him in college if they didn't play on bringing him up to the NHL.

that's my thinking to and if I'm Jost I'm telling them that, why give up three years of school for the AHL

    1) Cause the AHL makes you money.
    2) We want you under our umbrella, learning our system and the pro game
    3) We want you to build some chemistry with our other top prosepcts (Greer, Compher)

Good points Guru, maybe he wanted to go through the NCAA just so he could jump to AHL whenever he signed

If he was in the CHL this year (and his team was eliminated already) would he not be allowed to sign and jump into the AHL?

I think he could get a couple games but then go back to the NCAA, right?

Heres a question. If you had a kid like Jost what advice would you give him between picking the CHL or college? Where would you want him to go?
